Pleasse can anyone tell me where the speed sensor is located. My Z is a 91 model auto. I've got a problem with my cruise control and have been told to check the speed sensor. Is is easy to get to? Thanks for your help guys.

Usual case for suspecting the speed sensor is your speedo going crazy and jumping around the guage...This can affect the cruise control but it is unlikely to be this unless the visual clue of the speedo needle is also obvious. Check the vac lines under the bonnet and any fuses the system needs. Is is arming? and is it setting at all - it only works above 30 mph as well.

Attached is a pic of the speed sensor, doesnt sound like your problem though, id wager its a problem with the cruise system itself.

Tyre size recommendations

Use this site or similar to get the rolling circumference difference when you change wheel diameter and tyre profiles.
It will tell you how much the speedo will over or under read, and the difference in overall diameter to work out if they will rub anywhere.

Happy to say work on my engine block is now finished! Billet main caps were found to be up to 4 thou out of round. This time they have been machined using the ARP’s that will be used during assembly (unlike last time by EPR!)

Cylinders were rebored to suit my 88mm CP pistons and cross hatching angle, depth and surface finish all set up for the Total Seal gapless piston ring pack I have chosen to use. I think I’ll be the first person on the UK to use Total Seal’s gapless piston rings on a VG30, so I’m looking forward to seeing if the live up to the hype

Tyre size recommendations

Might be stating the obvious (to some) but something I didn't realise until I started trying to pick tyres for aftermarket wheels is that the profile figure - e.g. 40 - is 40% of the width.
So for a 255/40/17 tyre - diameter is 255mm, profile / side wall is 102mm (40% of 255), and radius is 17inches.
Learning this made it all make a lot more sense to me. I also have this graphic to refer to. Can't recall where I found it but it's now saved on my desktop!

I also wanted a chunky looking tyre with a solid side wall and after going 245(F) / 265 (R) , have since switched back to 235(F) / 255 (R) as I found the handling was noticeable more boggy and I use the car for fast road and track use. For ref, these tyres are on 18" BBS LMs.
