When a turbo compresses the air the air gets hot.

Hot air is less dense than cold (hot air ballons fly etc.) and thus contains more oxygen.

An intercooler is like a radiator, this hot compress air flows thru it, gets cooled and is more dense, contains more oxygen so uu pump in more fuel :)

Bigger intercoolers are better as the air is obviously cooled more.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Sorry couldnt resist it!!!;)

Think you mean less oxygen

The intercooler increases the power of the engine by cooling the pressurized air coming out of the compressor before it goes into the engine. This means that if the turbo's are operating at a boost of 9 psi, the intercooled system will put in 9 psi of cooler air, which is denser and contains more air molecules than warmer air.

Hope this helps (HTH ;) )

bigger intercoolers will have more lag as there is more air in the intake system to compress, so you need an intercooler(s) which is big enough to lower the charge temp, but not too big to cause massive lag

How efficent are charge coolers?

I'd imagine they're better than intercoolers and thus can remain small helping to keep the lag down..

That's right Paul,However I have not noticed any more lag with these, and you can see they are much bigger than stock;)

What PSI were you running wth those Mac ?

intercoolers cool the water in your blue washer jet system allowing you to use higher boost levels of washer jet boost or even in extreme cases run with em turned on all the time like pete shrimp:D
