Hi there :D

(Nice username btw ;))

No, it's the complete opposite to MR2's .. all UK cars are twinturbos, the NA was never sold here officially. So, if you see a Normally Aspirated Z, you know it's imported.

A lot of the TT's are also imported, however, so you'll need to enquire about each one.

As far as insurance goes, I've never come across anyone buying a Z to save money before! ;) However, get some quotes on UK cars and J-spec and see what the deal is! :D

hey there , i actually done an online quote just for a rough guide and it came out at £1030 tpft , im currently £1400 for my mr2 T but thats because an import. so im thinking if i do decide to go for one ill try people like flux and bell probably get it for about 800 which is fine.

its the fact i never keep cars long enough to build up ncb . and why do insurance companies rip us off with imports ?

All UK Zs are TTs, but not all TTs are UK. ;)

Insurance companies charge more for Imports because Japanese spec parts have to be ordered from Japan for repairs. Thing is, most parts are needed to be imported from Japan even though you actually ordering a UK/European part, it still usually comes from Japan, so that shoots their idea in the foot.

Why you want a 300ZX? There is some one on here who went the other way and wanted a smaller lighter car.

Why dont you have cars long enough to get NCB? You can transfer insurance from one car to the next. You dont have to cancel a policy to start a new one on a different car.

i have really liked the 300zx for a few yrs now but now you are gettin them for decent money now , i also have a turbo just now and love the power/speed , also regarding insurance i usually get bored with cars and sell them on but my girlfriends also drives so i usually go without a car from anything from 3-12 months.

NCB lasts for a year you know. So if you dont renew it you still have a year to go.

Anyways. Check out as much insurance as you can first. As you know, UK Zs will be cheaper to insure than Japanese Import ones.

Hi Shitty or whatever the name!

Welcome.

You'll pay more insurance for an import as already mentioned.

But what interested me in your post was the point that you get bored of a car after a few months.

I used to be like that till I got the ZXTT and then discovered I can mod it and up it's performance etc. So although I sometimes think - time for a change, I then look at it and think - no it's great looking let's do more!

So I hope you go for a ZX and learn to enjoy it long term.

Good luck,

Geoff.

I'll second that Geoff,

Once you've had the zed, even if you did get bored of it where can you go from here??? unless you have ferrari/lambo type money, there is simply nothing better looking/performing that I can think of!!!

Paul N:D :D :D
