Don't have a problem with that. Quite legitimate as I see it. Showing blue lights on a vehicle is reserved for the emergency services.

 

I was just warning those members who were considering fitting Blue neons to their cars!!!;)

 

If that is the case, then why are these colours being advertised and sold?? I.M.O this was a total over reaction by the Police(not unusual). Perhaps a "producer" to either change the colour of the tubes or remove them altogether within 7 days would have been a more appropriate action.

Maybe, and I'm only guessing at this, the perception by the police is that people who have this type of accessory fitted are trouble makers. I'm not condoning this as at the end of the day all it is is another form of discrimination.

 

I'm not defending the BiB but sometimes their job must be very difficult, but as you said you were at a 'Barry Boys' meet 'watching a few loons spinning around their modifed crates' so i guess sitting there spectating in a car displaying illegal lights was asking for trouble.

 

As for why do they sell them in blue, I guess it could be likened to laser jammers, you can legitimately buy them but to use them to jam police laser speed guns is illegal. buying them isn't an offence, using them is.

On the subject of racing a TVR, you could always make the rae last for more than 15-20 miles. By that time the TVR would have broken down. Or needed another service..........Just joking..

When I was younger I bought a blue neon aeriel to go on my car, don't ask me why, anyway I must have been pulled over 3 times in as many nights because it was blue. Went down the local plod station and they said if it was any other colour it shouldn't have been a problem so I took it back and changed it for a green one. Still got pulled with that one though so doesn't really make much odds!:rolleyes:

Its because blue is for emergency services, green is for doctor on call.

as for neons i must admit i like them but only under body not jets or in the car.

as for blue and red neons you are not legal on the road or just parked up. you can only use them at shows.

now any other is ok on the road. thats from a copper my uncule.

yep got the neons around the dash looks very cool at night

must be seen to be appreceated

 

its very thin neon rope about 5mm and 8ft long goes from drivers side, around the spedo console, down the centre console, up around the glove box, i have some pics but dont know how to reduce the bytes to 256000 bytes to go on my post

 

bet if macca saw it he would want one LOL!!
