If you replace the stock viscous fan with an aftermarket electric one, do you still keep the auxilary pusher electric fan?

Featured Replies

Yes, because it is the air conditioning condenser fan too.

Finding an electric fan to move the same amount of air as the standard may be tricky.

IIRC the general electric fans that seem to be in use are pushing (pulling in this case) around 2200 to 2400 CFM. I don't think it's anywhere near as high as the stock fan, but it's not for a daily driver and I was thinking of putting in an aftermarket radiator as well - so hopefully the better rad will compensate a bit for the slightly poorer fan.

I wasn't sure if the pusher cooled anything else. I might have to dump the aircon then. It would have been nice to keep but it's not critical.

Do a search on TT.net, lots of people have done it there and supposedly use fans with greater CFM ratings than stock.
