Bush problem?? Maybe, if youve not had any bush for ages, there fore spending far too much time spanking the monkey, and cos of this your hands just shake naturally now:D ;)

On a serious note, may be warped discs, or possibly a sticky piston on one of the callipers causing the braking to be uneven. First off id check your pads for even wear, then take it from there.

Good Luck.

Check the disc`s for run out. You cant tell by looking, you need to measure them.

Hi Steve

I would say it is most likely warped discs.

The stock discs are prone to warping if they have been subjected to several bouts of heavy braking from high speed.

If you need to replace them take a look at

http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk

They do a good replacement set-up for far less cash than stock items.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

thanks

the discs are groved at the moment

i think ill replace them is it better to get groved and drilled ones?:)

Hi Steve

I've heard mixed opinions from people who have fitted them but every tuning company or brake specialist I spoke to said avoid the drilled/grooved combi and stick with just grooved discs for the Zed.

I think it's because drilled discs are more prone to cracking and warping on such a heavy car. They are better for braking though, hence used for trackdays or when frequent replacement is not a problem:D

3g (link from my earlier post) do a set of 20 grooved discs for about £160 and Mintex pads for £60 - quite reasonable compared to some companies.....:)

I have had a bad vibration on my 300 since i changed the pads, all be it above 40 mph when braking, its fine under 40.

I have replaced the front tension rod bushes as the origionals were leaking grease....then the steering rack bushes......i have finally noticed the driver's side steering rod from the rack has lift, also i know my tracking is miles out, i have a new rod to fit but no time to do it. Next week i plan to change the rod.

I have also noticed since changing the front pads...after a short journey the front discs are a lot hotter than the rears and when my car was brake tested the rears never locked out...the fronts did...but i got high enough readings so it was cool.

I wouldnt jump in and change discs....get them checked b4 as ok 1st time u might be right..nachered discs....but they might be fine and u r changing them for nothing.

Just my 2p's worth....cheers john crisp

thanks all ill get it looked at again

When i got my car it had grooved discs already on it but the kind gentleman i bought it off also supplied it with 2 other sets of combi discs.

After about 2000 miles the discs warped so being as it wouldnt cost me anything i changed them over and the difference is massive. The braking has improved and after another 3000 miles no sign of juddering.

My only advice is to get a good quality set of discs (brembo etc), not just the cheapest. This is why people probebly have had cracked discs.
