I am lost with the variety of tailpipes available for the stainless silencer I am having made for my 300. Is there any chance of some pics of different tailpipes on the variety of 300's on the forum, either as a reply to my post or e-mail to tottiegt4@yahoo.com.

Ideally I want like a large bore maybee 5 inch tailpipe with the ned folded outwards but any pics appreciated. BTW 120 quid for a stainless silencer I think is quite good.

Cheers guys John Crisp

Hi Steve

Those ovals are just what I'm looking for, did you have them fitted? If so where, how much and how far back did you go with it?

Hi Chrissy

I had them done by Longlife Exhausts a couple of months ago (http://www.exhausts.uk.com/). I had the full system done including cat replacement pipes. They look and sound great and they are custom made with a lifetime guarantee! Jock has had his done by the same people. Cost for me was just under £800 including decat.

These are 4" and have quite a nice low burble sound to them, I'm told that 5" pipes will make the zorst louder and you may wish to reconsider that idea! - depending on the kind of driving you're doing. My car used to induce severe brain damage to any occupants until I had 2 new back boxes built by Tube Torque in Macclesfield. - It was great for going through tunnels though!

The silencer I am having built only actually has a 3 inch outlet hole.....I want the big tail for looks only...i think also the inlet to the silencer is 3 inches too so tbh i dont want to be a Nova sounding 300 being really loud....but.....a bit of noise when the car is kicked i think is acceptable.

I think you'll find 3" in and outs rather noisy - mine are only 2" going into the 4's

By the way - I noticed you are in Glasgow - I hope it's not Alien Concepts doing your exhaust! I'm still replacing bits they did to my car!

Yeah nigel i guess it is gonna be noisey....feckit lol.

Its a new company building the silencer...called C&C exhausts...a guy that used to work for a company in Prestwick, Ayrshire started up on his own....the rest of the system i and a workmate are going to weld ourselves (he is a welder to trade...gr8 at his job) so i am trying to build the system as cheap as possible..i know typical scotsman but if the mrs knew what i have spent on my car..well who knows what would happen.

BTW i have never heard of the company u have mentioned.

Then you're not missing anything!

My car was originally imported by Calders and the first UK owner took it to Alien Concepts for the new exhaust, but it's basically cheap crap with a pair of powerflo backboxes. I just had these replaced and it has made a significant improvement on the noise inside the car. It still sounds good outside, just not quite so LOUD!

Good luck with the welding!
