OK i guess I have a problem, had someone fit sbcid and all the bits couple of months ago, now found they bodged job, connected all the solenoids together, the wiring to the speedo etc . anyway now had it all removed and me car tells me it now boosts past the far point on incar guage and i get loads of smoke out the back on acceleration load.

I have checked the FAQ and searched the smoke signal page, just want your opinion.

Oh yes i had the oil changed to 'Racing 76'

Cheers guys

Hi,

The stock boost gauge is basically crap! Can be totally inacurate so you can't take that as gospel. Mine reads 12 psi when I know I was at 7............................

What colour was the smoke?

Vijay

Looked kinda white but perhaps with a blue tinge, no, really i guess it was white. Anyway more like a smoke screen than anything else

They did reconnect the wastegate actuators didn't they?

Oh I hope so! I don't get any det though so i guess they must have and to be honest the thing is a bit sluggish pulling away now.

I have been told that I could get a boost missread if the turbo seals have gone. Any clues?
