Poly Bushes

Just fitted full energy suspension poly bush kit.

Some of the bushes are an absolute bugger to do, but probably worth the effort. Probably took me about 10 hours to do, but that was dropping the subrframe and taking off the hubs etc too so that I could get it into the press.

Much less wheel hop on launch and the whole car definately feels tighter. Finally some feedback through the wheel too.

Only downside is alot more transmission noise inside the car, particularly with my noisy plate diff, and slightly harsher ride.

Reackon I can live with that though :D

John, where did you get them from and did you do front and back?

Got 'em from the Z centre.

Did subframe mounts, diff mounts, rear anti roll bar mounts and end bushes. Front bottom arm and steering rack.

Didn't do the front tie bars as I've got rose jointed ones.

I have to agree the rear sub-frame bushes make a big driveablity difference - especailly with lots of power, but if you also have uprated shocks and it's a daily driver remember you feel and hear every crack in the road every day!

I may be mistaken and just trying to help out you guys here, but I am sure I heard somewhere that these bushes absolutely f**k our zeds up.

Cus there oldish cars and cus of the size, they cant take such a stiff ride and start to crack and fall apart.

Bloody sure I heard this somewhere as I was gonna do mine and I was told to avoid this like the plauge!

I would stick to actually examples of fallen apart cars rather than hearsay. :)

The more you uprate the car the quicker parts will wear.

Uprating the Poly subframe can cause the suspention to fail earlier (like on mine which was probably about to go anyway). Then again you could say, because the car drives better and is more fun, you drive it harder and that also wears out the parts.

Also, my original nissan sub-frame bushes failed and Nissan only sell them attached to a £1000 quid subframe. So Nissan can cause your bank balance to fall apart and perhaps cause an accident which will definately cause the car to fall apart.
