I noticed a few of you are from the North East!!! Can anyone recommend a decent garage or mechanic in the Newcastle area.

Looking to get new (possibly uprated) clutch and brakes done, as well a general service and health check. Preferably this week!!

Also if anyone can recommend which clutch and brake parts to use, plus pros, cons and costs would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

p.s. I'm new to the zed arena and have only had the car a few weeks. Its a 95 TT import with chip and exhaust upgrade, but look forward to adding to that over the next few months!!

I'm down on the coast in Whitley Bay. Fraid I havn't found a garage yet (other than a local one for MOT) so will be watching for replys with interest!

what colour's your TT, I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm one of the (at least three) black ones - mines an NA with stock wheels - that seem to be kicking round the coast every time the sun shines!

No one really I would use is the truthfull answer. I do all my own engine pulls, clutches etc but dont have the time or enjoy it enough to take on work for other people.

Beware or some of the mickey mouse so called specialists suddenly setting up as Jap tuners, most of the work on these cars is out of their league they are best left to fitting large tailpipes to scoobys, also beware of another local place that started by fitting bleed valves to Renault 5 turbos and is now a self acclaimed specialist in Jap cars. Contact GPS from the trader section he is in Manchester though but its probably the closest and as our very own Duffer works for him you will be well looked after.

Feel free to e mail me if you want any advice.

Maybee a (proper)Northern Z meet is on the cards :D

Aye cushty!! That sounds purely belta man!!;)

I haven't found anyone in the Newcastle area either, but Gavo (one of the other black W/Bay Z'ers) recommend a guy from palmersville(behind Hensons Car Sales) to do my timming belt, it was £250 all in and I'm happy with it.

So how many of us are from this majestic part of the counrty??

Thanks fellas!

Probs going to take it to Grasshopper for an ACT clutch and Ferdanza flywheel plus usual healthcheck gubbins. Fortunately I am working over North West some weeks so not too inconvenient!!

Definitely should arrange a NE meet, however with what I've got in mind for the new toy, it may be a while before I have it for any length of time!!!;)
