Going for a nice trip out to the lakes when a couple of bikers wanted some which i did but...

Big plumes of blue smoke when accelerating hard...the only good thing is that the other biker nearly fell off his bike cos he couldnt see

Pulled over had a look and nothing, no smoke on idleing.

Went out again and same again the harder i accelerate the more blue smoke. It still accelerated OK but the smoke screen it leaves behind cant be good.

So come on experts how much is this one gonna cost me

Hi Chris

How much for new gaskets??

How easy are they to fit??

Last one when can you get them??

The cars meant to be at SE open day next weekend and on the rollers, so i cant do that if she's gonna kill everyone with smoke poisoning

Kirbz

Not something i deal in sorry, you'd be better off talking to SE if you have their tubs. Either way mate it's not going to be cheap

Mine eventualy went this way,oil rings shot i think, try taking off oil cap (slowly, bit of oil splash)when its been running a few minutes,if you have loads of smokey trying to gush out then defo piston/rings i rekon:(

I have spoken to a few people this morning and it sounds like its the tubs, the oil seals apparently have gone, so the turbo's either need refurbing or replacing

Well just spoken to SE and they say that with the turbo's i am running with the PSI going through them it deffo wont be the tubs??

They say it will be the pistons, probably cracked due to the BHP i'm running so its going to have a compression and cylinder leakage test on wednesday to see just how f**ked it is.

Looks like its forged pistons time

:slap:

;) watch out Macca

Mike - sorry I missed your msg m8, not been very well - I know I'm already sick in the head so no jokes thanks guyZ :p:D

A compression test will tell you if you have cylinder or turbo problems - leak down just has the advantage you know where its coming from. If you want a hand LMK m8 - in fact, gis a bell tonight if you want ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

Hey, kirbz, if you decide to scrap the car , can I have the telly!

Well did a compresion test today

1 - 160 psi

2 - 142 psi

3 - 155 psi

4 - 98 psi

5 - 160 psi

6 - 150 psi

Now i'm not an expert but even i might be able to tell where my problem is  :D

Ohh well forged pistons here i come.

Macca watch this space cos when i remove the engine i'm putting everything on it....granted it might be about 10 years till i can afford to do everything:) but when she does get back on the road she will be pushing serious bhp.
