Hi all,

I have just had the most amazing quote from Bell Direct.

I'm 27, 4 years NCB, one fault accident.

My car is an import manual TT 2+2 tbar.

How does £730 fully comp sound? A bit of a bargain me thinks!

F`ing right!

Had a quote of £1450 from Lifesure and had to guarantee a max of 6K miles for it too. After reading on the forum, I called Carole Nash and got a quote pretty near to the 350 mark myself. Also means that suddenly I have full NCB on my daily driver. And CN have also slapped breakdown cover on the policy too, something I did not get from Lifesure even with their quote which was almost £1,100 dearer.

Ok, Ok!!!

But how do I know you guys are not a few years oldrer than me. I thought that quote was amazing for someone of 27.

Anyone there had a quote cheaper than that who is the same age or younger than me?

Or am I just being ripped off!

Justin.

£800 mods delaired

That is Fully Comp 0 NCB and Im 23. I was 22 when I took out the policy ;)

Hold on, wheres the catch, thats seems unbelivable. Is that a Uk car or import. I know imports can be more expensive.

Who quoted you that, I think I might see if they can offer me a similar deal.

Justin

Classic insurance ;)

Hehehehehe

What reg is your car. They may think it is a Z31 which is completely different. Its happened before.

My car is a 1990 twin turbo tbar. It is only a second car so only need it be insured for 3000 miles a year and for pleasure purposes.

How can I get hold of your insurance company and do I need any expensive gadgets like trackers to get insured with them?

Why would a Z31 be more expensive to insure?

Justin

Postcodes will make a huge difference. I've been told I live in a high risk area, so they basically doubled the premium.

Classic seems the way to go.

I am with firebond. I dont know about imports needing a tracker, but with normal insurance policies being that cheap come companies think its a Z31, the 300ZX before we have now. Its a lot cheaper. I have heard a few stories on here of people insuring their car only for a few months later to get a letter saying their insurance has doubled becuase they had the wrong car put in.

But if this is your 2nd car and only doing it for 3000 miles that still sounds cheap but more like it.

Stuart

Come to think of it, I dont know if they do classic for imports :(

Worth a try though

Cerina will be handing in her notice tomorrow which means come Aug 2004 I will be looking for a new insurance company which also means that I will have to pay more than £200 insurance a year .

DO you think I could get classic insurance by insuring both the 300zx's ?. ones 13 years old and the other is 11  or do you have to have a normal car as your second car ? :D

(edit)

Not sure if the essence of a 'classic' policy is that you do have use of another car.

For all of you like myself who are fortunate enough to have two cars then this tip may save ya all a few pennies.

If you insure with Bell Direct then if you bring your second car to them they will match your bonus. It worked great for me. Already had 4 years bonus on my first car and when I bought a second they gave me 4 years on that too. Bargain!

Justin,

A word of warning about Bell-end Direct ...

They will not cover mods beyond exhaust ...

When I got this Z, (my old one just had a s/steel zorst) and it had, wait for it, and induction kit  - they said "Sorry Sir, can't insure you anymore" .. Fook!

Also, when my last Z was written off by some un-insured scrotes, before I could get the wreck back (many parts to sell) they crushed it.

Arse.

Thanks Paul,

I will bear that in mind if I insure my Zed with them.

Does anyone know how much extra roughly an aftermarket zorst adds to an insurance policy?

LOL fella - what part of "John-Boy" made you think my name was Paul? :D:D

I'm pretty sure they added about 5% when I added the Zorst .. what a complete rip-off! :(

JB. (John) ;)
