My garage is fitting a n/s/f lower ball joint for me, which I bought from Courtesy.

However when mechanic removed the original lower arm, the ball joint seat (a small cone shaped bit of metal) was still attached to it. The new one doesn't come with the seat and neither local Nissan dealer (whom I obtained the part no. from) nor Courtesy suggested I would need to order that as well.

This seat thingy is stuck to the old joint and mechanic doesn't want to force it in case it breaks. We haven't tried to buy a new one from local Nissan dealer yet but if we do there will inevitably be a 6 year wait.....

Any opinions as to whether we should force the old seat off and re-use it or does anyone know where one might be obtained from quickly?

Thanks
