Hi guys,

Has anyone experienced the oil pressure gauge reading extremely low pressure (e.g. 0-10 psi) on a long journey??

Although it was low I don't think that it was correct, as after booting it/turning off the engine for 5 minutes it sprang back to life...

Is the gauge known to be tempremental??

Your thoughts...

Ben

Hey Ben,

Yes, the oil pressure sender unit degrades over time due to the internal construction of it and hence it will only indicate a faulty reading. Best thing to do is to get an aftermarket oil pressure guage which you can plumb in somewhere other than the original pressure sender unit. You can also get a new oil pressure sender unit from Nissan - thought they cost around £90 and are very easy to fit.

Cheers Danny...

At that price I can buy the 3 aftermarket gauges I'm after anyway... Looks like a trip to Jeff (ZedWorld).

Once again, thanks Danny

My thoughts exactly.

For the £80-£90 that it cost for the sender I bought 2 of my dials and had change left over.
