In my search for a 300zx I am thinking about if I should get a 2 seater wich seems to look nicer or a 2x2 wich is more stabled, any advice on this mates?

thanks!;)

What you after?

The 2 seater is slightly faster because it is lighter, but the 2+2 is more pratical and meant to be more stable at higher speeds.

Some parts like exhausts my be a problem for a 2 seater as they are slighty different than a 2+2 and not as popular.

2 seater is going to be more difficult to source, more expensive to buy, more expensive for some of the parts ie exhaust cos they are more rare.

Likewise all 2 seaters are imports so the insurance will cost you more for a 2 seater than say a UK 2+2.

But I say if youve got the money get a 2 seater cos they are nice, i not sure about the high speed stability bit, but i know when JD took me for a spin in his old (now smashed to bits) 2 seater, when I got back in my 2+2 it felt very barge like compared with the 2 seater.

Having said all this your best bet is to buy the car on its condition, irrespective of variations like chasis, colour, auto-manual etc!

Good Luck and happy hunting!

2+2 is a little more practical (them rear seats hold loads of stuff - well some stuff at least), but if it's a second car then I'd say go for the 2-seater. It's less common, so you'll have something different to most other Z owners.

You might find it a bit harder to get body kit parts for the 2 seater though, although I think it's just the side skirts that are different length.

My 2 pence worth,

When Nissan first designed the 300ZX (Z32), it was as a 2 seater, 2+2 was brought in also to appeal to a larger audience, but a lot of people think the 2 seater is the purest form of the Z32, no compromise, but less practical.

You'll also notice the Z33 is only a 2 seater!!

Mine is a 2 seater, more exotic I think because of the relative rarity value, also on the parts issue, cost is pretty much the same as for 2+2 import. UK car parts being cheaper is a myth unless you only buy from Nissan in which case you will not be able to afford to run he car anyway unless exceptionally well paid!!

This is purely down to personal preference. There aren't any overwhelming factors for or against on either tbh.

I have a 2+2 but would get a swb next time. Obviously 2+0's are harder to find.
