i live in the UK and i have just bought a 1990 2 seater non-turbo z

it has 72k on the clock and on the whole im very please with it

 

ok i have a few strange noises... there is a small vent dead center in the top of the roof on the inside , im thinking maybe aircon temp senser?..it is making the most anoying wirring noise?

 

from the drivers wing behind the wheel there is a strange water sound almost like a quiet gurgle? i took out the indicater(side repeater lamp) and there seems to be some water container in there? i have no clue what this is..help someone?

 

it has alot of road noise from the rear is this normal..i never driven anything with tyres on this size b4 (265/35 zr18)?

 

the manual gear box is slightly noisey...like transmision noise maybe..nothing serious sounding..is this normal.?

 

i would be glad for anyhelp...also can i buy a decent workshop manual for it..hayes doesnt seem to make one...and if i need to have the car worked on ever is there any recomendations for the surrey/sussex area of the uk?

Welcome to the land of the zed lol. Looking at what you've said there are no major problems.

 

1) This is a fan which blows cabin air over the temperature sensor. They are notorious for making this buzzing noise. You could try taking the assembly apart and lubricating it.

3) Could be something as simple as the rubber gator come loose - is it worse in 2nd and 4th gear?

 

Service manual, you'll have to ask v nicely on here to see if someone will send you a copy on CD ;)
