I need a new drivers side rear light cluster. I have a 91 Japanese NA- will UK light clusters match if I was to get a 'second hand' one from a UK car, or are there differences?

It should be easy to fit, shouldn't it? Just disconnect old one and reconnect the new, taking off the plastic lining panel in the boot? Anyone have one lying around that is in decent condition?

Hi Rich

I have just replaced mine so i do have a spare thats in good condition. It has a few little marks on it but i will have a look at them tomorrow to make sure there ok.

I dont know how much there worth??

They are fairly straight forward to fit just a pain strip the boot down :D

Oh and mines a UK car so you would need to make sure they will fit OK!!

Cheers

Kirbz

Can you get just a 'finishing panel' and not actually buy the light cluster? Can Nissan or other parts supplier get one that will match, or is my only chance someone who is selling a cluster off their old z?

The other thing I wanted to ask was, will I have to strip out the boot, or will the light cluster come out by unfastening the bolts through the little inspection panel in the boot? I haven't investigated properly in the car yet.

Cheers,

Rich

Cheers Kirbs-

The question is, does a UK light cluster match a jap? I still want the stock orange. Am I weird? everyone else seems to want to change to clear.

Hi Rich

I have a UK car and have just replaced my cracked rears with a 2nd hand set from AndyZ, which were from a Jap car. There was no difference between them as they fitted fine.

I didn't strip out the boot either, just the small centre section between the two slots. I removed the retaining nuts/bolts from the other pannels near the lights just to give a little movement.

Whole job took 1-1.5 hours.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

This is what I like to hear. I *hoped* I wouldn't have to rip the boot to pieces just to change the light. People have been really helpful- thanks guys, basically it seems, if you need something, someone here can come up with it at a good price/out of good will. Hope I can return the favours/knowledge that I have got of you lot so far.

Cheers

so will chopping off the hands of the little b*ggers who stole me valve caps
