Whats the differance between a SE chip and a stock UK one?

Whats the differance between a SE chip and a stock UK one?

I got a SE one and was looking at the code and it appears to be the same as the stock one apart from the rev limit, thats set to 7400rpm and the speed limiter thats set to about 290 odd mph.

No will this chip be ok if i up the boost with a boost controler, or will i need another chip, was tod that this chip should be ok for about 1 bar, but the fuel map and timing map seem to be the same as a stock chip.

Can anyone help please?

J.D. where are you? lol Can you help??

Lol, I've obviously never seen an SE code, but I'd imagine the differences are something like this:

Higher Rev and speed limit.

Feedback upped (not too sure but I think this is the amount of correction applied by the ECU in closed loop mode)

TTP Max altered to allow a little more fuel off idle - presumably gives better pickup.

Fuel maps altered slightly to lean out the top end a little.

Timing map altered to advance a little, particulaly at high revs / load.

The differences in the maps aren't huge, but definately there. It's a stock '93 manual J-Spec code I compared it to which I think has better timing than the UK one anyway.

I made an excel file to anylise the maps if you want to import it to look. It's up for download Here the filename is V3_1.1.xls

That file did not work on my computer, would not import the data!

Mathew, you need the vb6 runtime files to get it to work, as it uses a common control to make the dialogue box.

What message did you get exactly?

Compile error in hidden module: ImportExport

Ah, that one!! A few people have had that but I've never been able to replicate it. Seems some PC's don't have the Hex$ function on them.

Try running office update, and if you give me your email address, I'll send you a version that I know is fully compiled, that might fix it?!

FYI, I developed it on Windows XP SP1, VB6 runtime files installed and Office 2000 SP1.

Cheers

John

I've put together a dependence package for it, so hopefully that'll include all the files it needs to run properly.

It's about 2.5Mb, so I'll zip it up and send it tonight.

Cheers

No Probs, pleased it worked. You can edit it then export the changes to a new BIN if you want to tweak it.
