Couple of bits of help required.....

1... I no I'm dumb but.. is the oil dip on the right when you are standing at the frt of the car with the bonnet up..... gear box on the left then i guess...

2 is there anyone near slough who knows about lambda sensor probs...... I know it sounds kinky, but thats what its called.

My cat light comes on and off.... and the other day I was going down the mway about 85, and the cat light went on... then the yellow engine check light flashed...then engine started missing for 5 secs, but in a sort of ECU missy way.... then engine dyed...

free wheeled to hard shoulder.... turn everthing off.... waited 10 secs... started the car and it was fine.... cat light came on a couple of times....

got me home....

any ideas...co i'm lost in space on this one....

Cheers

2.Dunno...sounds like one or both your o2/lambda sensors are shot.

It could also be a connector problem (corrosion or loose)

Regarding your cat light, if you mean what I think you might mean, its actually the exhaust gas temperature warning light.

Could be you're not firing on all cylinders, as the saying goes. Is the engine otherwise running smoothly?

Pandaz - you don't own a red K reg TT do you by any chance? Saw one stopped at the side of the road near the big roundabout at the top end of the A355 (as you leave Slough heading up the hill, the roundabout before the school) that looked a little poorly..

Anyway - there is an ECU test for the lambda sensors - the procedure is on tt.net I think, start there would be good advice..

If you want a hand, I'm in Slough - just drop me an email (the address is on my profile) - although I'm by no means an authority on Zeds (yet wink.gif ).. smile.gif But sometimes just a second pair of eyes can help..

Cheers Eric,

I can check my oil tomorrow!!

Def sounds like the Lambda sensors

I was gonna ask at Billing but after you got lost on the way there and the Saab dipstick story whilst looking for a bin, I thought that it would be best not to ask....LMFAO
