thats a tad unfair ive always found ure posts to be by far the most entertaining although of late ive not really been on as ive become an eve-online junkiie does waz still frequent the boards i miss his wit and humour almost as much as ures amigo

That's because you're a foul mouthed, naughty little boy!:slap: :D

I bet you're quite proud of it really, it means that your post appears for a while on more than one forum, and it shows that the moderators take an interest in what you are writing.

Either that, or they just want to p1ss you off:D

im sure a few have asked this before, but why have these threads been moved????????????

this is general chat FFS, they are not offensive nor legaly troublesome.

can whichever mod that moved these threads actually give a reason.

there are many jokes that are posted on here which can be a bit rude at times (ooooh er) which are always left.

It would be nice to know why some of these posts are moved.

you :xxx: !! :D

Wasn't me but I'll stick me head over the parapet.

1) "Most"? I can only see two recently - Mary had a little... and test icles.

2) Acceptable use policy can be found in full here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22127

and some quotes:

This means we have a duty of care that the content of the forums are legal and of a good and decent nature. This is where the forum moderators provide an important role.

When will a thread be edited or deleted?

* Swearing: Whilst the censored versions of swearing (e.g. s**t, etc) are usually considered OK, offensive / overuse of this may offend and may be moderated.

When will a thread be moved?

* A thread will be moved to the Muppets forum where it’s deemed too “silly” for other forums.

There's also something about pornography which might have been taken to apply to Mr Blaine.

Not that I minded the threads and posts but it seems reasonable to be that a moderator would decide (on the basis of the AUP) to move them to the unmoderated forum.

Oh, and importantly

When a post is moved, edited, locked, deleted by the Moderators it should not be regarded as a direct or personal attack on a particular individual. It will be as a result of the guidelines given below putting the 300ZX.CO.UK club first, over any individual's personal ideals.

Does this help oh Duffman?

Cheers - Gio

Oh and a couple of points: I thought they were funny - funny and filthy. Which is why IMO the unmoderated forum is a better place for them.

And they weren't deleted so everyone can still enjoy them - and they can't complain because they know it's unmoderated.

Cheers - Gio

on the same note then why are other threads, esp The Zed Story, which has been running for weeks now, still in this forum??

Actually, that's a bloody good question. Pardon me while I toddle off and consult the rest of the Modulators.

Gio's right. The acceptable use policy doesn't allow it. Therefore, is the acceptable use policy appropriate? Seems a bit soft. But you can't blame a moderator for following the policy. You can complain about the policy itself though.

what im saying tho is why are some threads left in here, while others are moved???

Agreed. If you have an acceptable use policy, it should be appropriate and it should be adhered to by the moderators. If you make it to harsh, you face having to arbitrate over a large number of posts. If that is the case, you're going to appear to be taking sides when some posts stay and some go. Far better to make the acceptable use policy more appropriate and, therefore, enforceable.

Personally I can't see the point of any moderation, even when that muppet with the Lexus thing came to visit. However, I understand that a large number of people won't share that opinion and, therefore, guidelines are necessary.

what a load of bollocks. :)

.... and when I've found out, we'll post something.

But some advance guesses:

Someone might have complained. We'd rather not interfere at all if at all possible, so if something is borderline, we'll leave it unless someone reports the post and gives a reason why - which is what the AUP is for.

So if someone complained about thread A but we had no complaints about thread B, thread A might get moved and thread B not.

Mods are different people and might have different sensibilities about different subjects so one might interpret the some rules slightly more / less leniently than the others.

With the utmost of pedantical respect to Mike D, Paul's question about why some threads are moved and some are not is a slightly different question to whether or not we should have moderation at all.

I wouldn't expect anything but the utmost respect as always Mr Gio. But when has a simple question stopped being an excuse to go off on an unrelated rant?! :D But, to answer your question, what use is an auto gearbox anyway?

It might have only been two posts but how often do I post here these days? Gotta be about a 30% hit rate that :D

As far as my sig goes, I told you, its a man in a box whittling some wood :D

Mary had a little lamb? Have you listened to the kids in the playgrounds recently? :D

AUP? What are rules there for? ;) We all know that one LOL

Ah come on! Its was silly, yes, it was a bit rude (mainly to Nelson) yes, but for the few people who were contributing to the nonsense it was a bit of fun.
