Anyone ever attempted to make up of have mad up a stainless exhaust. I have 4.5 inch bore pipes that i was hoping to weld together to make a 1 Outlet System by joining the 2 pipes after the cats. Anyone purchased a back box and made an exhaust?

I think the single outlet system would look very aggressive on the back of a 300 but I guess with a 4 inch outlet or bigger it would be rather noisey....anyway f*** the neighbours I dont care about the noise at 6am when i go to work.... I want my big bore exhaust.

Mine is made up of twin straight through at at least 3.5" dia in welded sections because it is too big to bend. At the end are welded on Apexi cans with I think 5" tips. It was exhaust manifold back but way too loud so the cats went back in to make it cat back.

The sections I have are mainly bends with a straight section as well. My mate says he could make a 'Y' pipe to link the 2 systems together no probs with the pipes I have and only the silencer would have to be purchased.

Is your car noisey just now with the large bore tails as I wasnt planning on removing the cats.

Does anyone have any pics of a single outlet system on a 300 that i can use as reference.

Ha ha gr8 minds think alike as regards neighbours Kirbz.

The system I want is like only having one silencer with like a 'Y' pipe making the 2 systems go into one outlet but yours looks good too Kirbz.

Anyone got a single silencer system on their car, if so any pics appreciated.

PM Leigh (Friday) he had some pics of his exhaust from underneath that I'd asked him for. Sounds like what you're after.

Single exit sounds awsome, much better than dual IMO, getting one made asap!

Mine is a little louder than I'd like for long distance motorway cruises but sounds great on a country road at 5000rpm. The noise is definitely related to how far down your foot is! And the child in me cant help but drop the windows and floor it when going through tunnels and underpasses.

I had heard that If you do drop the cats then lagging the first 3 feet or so of the exhausts helps dampen some of the noise.

At low speed and low revs its a bit V8 ish and burbles.

Cant sneak in late to the office as I'm told they can hear it coming from the road end.

Nice one, John ... can't wait to see the pictures of the result ... she needed something to scare the neighbours! Far too refined with stock 'zorst!!

CheerZ,

JB.

A couple of pics of my single outlet system mate, if they`re any use to you...and yes...it`s loud as hell and its not even de-catted yet! (not for long though...;) )

John: Not that I think you need persuading to go single exit, on the subject of "loudness", I pulled into a space on a retail park the other day and set off both alarms of the cars either side of me...and again when I left!:D

The pics already posted are more or less the same as I`ve got of the rear of mine, but here's a close-up for the hell of it...(does this class as exhaust porn? Lol! :p )
