Of course your running 600bhp at 2 bar - that would explain why your running 14's...500bhp?....well obviously, with 100 brake more than me your bound to be slower.... its all that extra power slowing you down.....:mad: :mad: :mad:

With all the mod above what BHP you kicking out ? I would have though it would be in the region of 550 with maybe just under 2 bar of boost ?, but you say you did the quarter running at 0.9 bar ?. Have you got problems with you car or something or were you just being cautious because of the hot weather?

I did 0-650 in 2 secs trying to outrun a UFO last night. It's true, Elvis can verify this as he was in the passenger seat, keeping an eye on "Shergar" in the back :D

Wow calm down, cos in the end you know that my 650bhp Z is way better than his anyway. Nothing can beat my car when all my dials are turned to blue. Its like adding another 2 cylinders to the car. ;)

Last week when it was rolling roaded my car was making 394bhp@0.77 bar....any higher than this and I was detting - It didnt matter how much more fuel was added......:( :mad:

Anyway, cos the fan at the RR was'nt exactly great, when we got on the road and had lots more cold air going in we added more fuel/ made more boost (its set at 1 bar currently),so I would imagine its running around 400bhp at the moment....

You still got that set of wheels from Billing in the back mate? :D

What the ones off the Zedworld stand, that dont actually fit Z's????:mad: :mad: :mad:

Sorry Adam, for hijacking your thread ... I can understand your frustraion given the investment you've made so far - mind you, 400 rwhp sounds pretty impressive to me, must be fast on the road?

 

I can't understand the detting given the S-AFC, 555's etc ... could it be the "mystery chip"?

Is it even possible to run that much boost on a Z? Iwould of thought the max you'd wanna run would be about 20psi ish.

The SE rolling road day should give a clear indication as to who's got what!!!!!

 

Everyone tested on the same rolling road by the same person should be interesting.

51x will be running 2 bar when he's car comes out.

I know many recommend the twin intake setup to get through the 450 bhp barrier.

RR dont tell you much though really, just the power. There is more to a car than how much an engine pushes out. Take your car to a track ( A proper track with corners, none of this 1/4 mile rubbish) and I bet a pro driver would beat any of our time in a car with half the power.

I have witnessed an every day Punto out run Mitu Evos and Subarus round a really tight track because it was driven by a pro.

Had this discussion with Macca last night (although he had to go to watch Heart Beat!) bwwahhaahaaaaaa!:rofl:

 

Anyway, u could have 1000 bhp but if u cant get it onto the road then your 1/4 time will be killed by something running 200 bhp and AWD. Put it this way, I've recently witnessed a Supe not getting full traction until 3rd gear up the strip! Then again I've seen a 805 BHP (genuine) supe do it in 10.032! :D

Adam, have you considered that dialling in more fuel with the AFC affects the timing too on a Z.

I know in general the timing is reduced as load increases, but there are some areas where it'll bump the timing up a little - worth thinking about anyway.

If you want a chip modded for dual pop at any time let me know, should be able to sort it out.

WTF is that all about? how long can these thing take? a full restoration wouldnt take that long surely.

If I gave you the whole story, it'd need to come out in book form. In short, my engine bust last October (I think?!?)... to be fair I left it at said place at the worst time ever cos their chief mechanic had just left shortly followed by their engine builder. So they didn't really get a chance to start work on it til the following January. Blah, blah, blah... loads more problems... stuff not getting ordered... people leaving, new people starting, then leaving... someone rather important getting ill and being dragged into hospital for a while... More recently: engine all back together being mapped at a relaxed 1 bar, 2 days before Billing - spark plug burns out and takes out piston-1. Engine all in bits again, new piston sourced, but now needs machining because it's different from the other 5. Still on a promise that it's going back together and in the car this week.

 

Does it sound like I'm making this up?! I wish I'd kept a diary. If I get it back running anything less than 500 bhp (crank) - solid, reliable and no bullsh*t, I think I might just cry :cry: Is 500 bhp worth 11 months and mhmhm-ousand pounds? Yes, of course! But I won't really believe it myself til I'll sitting in it with my foot on the go pedal.
