Mike - any idea who claimed your tickets? The 11 I had left over corresponded exactly to the amount that I should have had left given the names above....

Amount for 2 tickets is £17.00 please.

Thanks.

sigh? ffs it was a joke :p Maybe last time you sighed, you sighed your sense of humour out by accident? ;)

Maybe, Andy.

Maybe I'd just had a bad day at work and this was one thing too many.

Maybe I'm tired at the constant whinging that goes on in this forum everytime anyone tries to change anything in the hopes of improving it.

Maybe I'm a little fed up of your jibes especially when in this instance I was simply helping the club go to a Club event.

Maybe my sense of humour deserts me everytime I log onto this board. Hence why I haven't really been about a lot recently.

Maybe next time I won't pick up the gauntlet and you can all pay £17 on the door, least then I don't have the hassle of getting people to pay me back. (Yes, Roy - I know yours is in the post! ;))

Who knows?

Maybe, you're taking this far to seriously... ;)

Maybe... :)

Maybe I want to win the award for the most maybes in any one post... :p

People promise to pay her back then renege? If that's not serious imagine if a group of people here got you to shell out and then didn't pay up.

I'm with Gio. Which part of "DEBT COLLECTION" requires jokes?

Saying that...at least it's sunny in IRAQ :D

This is NOT what you expect to read from the 'Club' Treasurer.

I'm sorry Anita that you have had major agro about this, I agree with you that it is disgusting behaviour.

I also agree with you, next time let them pay full price.

No, I agree, it's not. But then what did you expect? Everything about the payment for Trax was written many times in red letters on the list of people who wanted tickets. It was discussed with the other moderators and it was agreed that shortfall would be taken out of club funds. Apologies to those people who didn't get beyond page 3 of the TRAX thread in advance due to your disinterest... Does make me wonder why bother reading it so far after the event but anyway.....

TRAX was a CLUB event organised by the CLUB for the CLUB.

Everything was above board.

THREE THOUSAND views that thread had including by some of the more vocal members on this board and not one complaint. Three weeks after the event, someone suddenly complains and all hell breaks loose.

Had I paid for the tickets and then, when people didn't pay, suddenly announce that I was taking the shortfall from the board, I could see the annoyance and irritation. However, the fact was mentioned many times on the thread.

I have someone on this board owing me £450 from pieces that he took from my old car back in July. This is the first time ANY mention of that has been made here. Why? Because it's NOTHING to do with the board. WE will sort it out between ourselves.

However, in this instance people have promised to pay for a CLUB event and were given ample warning what would happen if they did not. I have even put up this sticky thread so that people could see who has made it come to this.

It was all out in the open - nothing was hidden.

Agreed. In future events will be organised with ample time to collect payment from people IN ADVANCE. Unfortunately given the time restrictions on this particular event (and I feel the need to emphasise that as certain people seem to be obsessing on the rumour that this might be the case for each and every future event), ON THIS PARTICULAR OCCASION it was felt that it would be more beneficial for the club (or in this case, me) to pay for the tickets and be paid back.

In future, no money = no ticket.

Are you really suggesting that someone who can't attend an event should have to read the whole thread about it, just in case the mods decide to spend some of the club's money and announce it in there, rather than in the Club News and Announcements Forum, which would seem to be the more logical place to find it?

On the off chance it does have to happen again, how do you think it should be announced?

On the off chance it happens again, we'll cross that bridge when it happens.

It was a decision made and 3000 views hadn't illicted a murmur of complaint but I wish to god I'd never agreed to help out with TRAX now.

None of this is meant as a personal attack on you, Ajay. I feel very sorry that you've had all the hassle and people haven't paid you.

However, the issue is, and always has been, about the way the decision was taken, how the members were told it had been taken and whether it should happen in the future.

You seem happy for the committee to decide these things without asking the members and announce them in the middle of a long thread about an event. I'm not.

  • Author

I'll repeat once again....

ON THIS PARTICULAR OCCASION that was the way it was made and announced, yes. Due to time constraints et al.

However, it's obvious that this isn't a method that is going to be taken lightly.

IT SHOULD NOT happen again as we will be more organised in future.

If, on the off chance it does, we will make more of an effort to post it in Club News & Events forum, to make sure that people are aware.

Mac - OK, will take BigRoy's name off the list. Thanks. :)

I think that that just about sums up the whole situation.

May I make one suggestion IF this ever happens again and someone uses their own resources to purchase something for the club then said party should recieve FULL payment from the club and mones paid directly to the club.
