Whilst trying to examine the connector to the Temp. sender the damn wire broke so I urgently need a new connector. I've ordered a new temp sender unit from Nissan but ofcourse they don't supply a connector as this is part of the wiring loom.

So where can I get a connector for the temp sender???

Also will the car start and run without a connection to the temp sender, or will it confuse the poor old ECU?

Help urgently needed.

Thanks,

Geoff.

I believe the connector is the same as a Z31 injector connector. Its been almost a year since I sold my Zed and left the UK but I remember one of the mail order suppliers in the south east (not SE) had them available.

To get out of trouble strip the wire back, fold it over the spade conector and push the broken conector back on.

Cheers

Ady

Its a pretty standard connector AFAIK. Just got to a scrap yard and look for one (injector/temp sender connector of anything with Bosch system)

Well thanks all.

Picked up the new sender from Nissan on Friday and then got an insulated spade connector from a motor spares place. Connected it all up and took the zed for a trial run. All seems good now running fine.

What do you mean the weather or the car. Well I ran the car up and down the A414 for a number of fast sprints and I did restart the car and also let it idle to make sure it all ran fine and it was OK.

I'll see how it goes tommorow.

Excellent. Well hopefully that was the problem. Did you reset the ECU after you fitted the new temp sensor ?.

Touch wood that that's the end of it

Stuart,

I haven't reset the ECU as yet. do you really think it's necessary?

Geoff.

Whenever you change a part in the engine especially when it's connected to the sensors I would. You may even find that the car performs better.

Thanks Stuart - I'll do that.

Geoff.
