is it/would it be possible to electronically transfer subscription fees to the club, the way I see it, it would possibly save time and headaches for Ajay, plus postage

At the moment the subscription cheques are being paid directly to me until the club account is sorted out. I can mail you my bank details for the transfer if you would prefer to do it that way...?

Hi Ajay

you might want to take a look at this (from NatWest)

http://www.fastpay.com/

It's mostly free and you can then transfer the dosh into a standard bank account as and when you like.

Worth looking into. How would people feel about paying £20.20 for subscription if paid via Fast Pay?

Q. Is there a charge for using FastPay?

A. Signing up and paying money into your FastPay account is free. It costs just 20p to send a FastPay payment (less than the price of a first class stamp!), taking money out of your FastPay account is completely free. Our charges may be subject to change from time to time.

True - but there is a charge for taking money out of a PayPal account as well.

IMO we should offer cheque (cash if you like) and something like PayPal or Fastpay. Members can choose the payment method which suits them. If they want to pay the 20p to send from their FastPay to the club's that's their choice. They can spend an envelope and a 26p stamp to send you a cheque if they prefer. Or use the petrol to get it to you at a meet.

people may have the ability to transfer straight from their own account--- shouldn't this also be an option

Given the account details I would join with an electronic bank transfer,

Simon

Just bear in mind that - until the club has its own bank account - we would be asking an individual to bear the risk of publishing their bank account details. Not a good idea IMO.

And again - just to keep the risk low - an account like Paypal or Fastpay lets the club receive money without having to publish the club's bank details. It would be a complete *rse if the club bank account got raided and all our money disappeared.

As I work for a bank, and looking at the amount of money involved, I wouldn't expect much of a threat to the club's finances from that sort of source.

However if a cheque is the way forward, then fine, no problem.

If Ajay is still the person to send them to, please let me know, and I shall forward it on to her.

Thanks,

Simon.

Chq would probably be easiest at the moment, then I have a "paper" copy against which I can keep accounts so that when the club's account is finally working, I know exactly how much to transfer across.

Thanks. :)

Would be VERY handy if something electronic could be sorted out.

I use a hell of a lot of Paypal Nochex and Fastpay, and although a ballache to setup at 1st once completed it is excellent. If the club is going to move with the times, this must be made available, I'm waiting to pay now, Paypal at the ready

As stated before - once the bank account is sorted, then this WILL be set up. I'm not happy at publishing my personal bank account details.

 cheers

I think I've seen the answer to this on another post... But, do you have a club bank account setup now???

I'm going to join and have the ability to transfer funds online.

Can Ajay (or whoever is responsible) send me the details via PM or emailhttp://mailto: ben.spelman@ntlworld.com ?

I'll send my £20 ASAP...

Time to join the fold, me thinks!!!:D :D :D

Cheers

Ben
