I think it's only on US cars (that have a proper control switch).

Thanks mate,

not surprising the USA normally uses porridge for a suspension medium so the stock Z set up would probably knock their fillings out which makes sense to ave a soft and sport option for their

tastes

Steve

Uk zeds have hard and soft settings for the rear shocks (if they are standard ones). Try pulling the handbrake up by one click so the light comes on (be careful of 360's though lol) the instrument panel, this will activate the servo motors on each shock and firm them up....;)

The US ones have a a proper switch fitted that's all!

Notice your not so far away, what colour is your zed may have seen you around....

cheers Jon. ;)

hey up buddy . i drive a red 94 import if you are who i think you are is your zed Grey , im sure i have seen you driving around

up the prom and down Heysham road etc etc

Steve

UK spec's have this, automatically firms up the rear during hard acceleration, also the handbrake trick.

US spec have a switch for sports/touring settings

Jap spec dont have this feature

Dont know about euro spec.

US spec get them on the front shocks as well. Hollow piston rod with an actuator at the top to change the valving inside.

This comes up regularly.

Nope, the JDMs don't have it.

Yes the US models have switchables all round.

Yes the UK models have the handbrake switch which firms the rear shock absorbers up.

But NO-ONE has EVER posted a real reference to a Nissan manual, bulleting, explanation as to a) WHY the UK models do this and b) IF the UK models get "harder" as they get faster, where does the input come from.

If you look at the manual page in the thread above, there is NO connection from the Adjustable Shock Absorber Control Unit to anything except Ignition, Parking Brake Switch, Brake Warning Light and the two Rear Shocks themselves.

So WTF does the alleged "getting harder as it gets faster" input come from and connect to?

No this ain't me but it's my old zed, I now own a 'bright white' zed.;)
