Yesterday evening I was at a place called "Tsunami Racing" getting a nice shiney new filter fitted and whilst chatting to the guy there about other future ways to give me more power he said that he'd read about some sort of 'emissions control valve' that comes on Jap spec models...??...and if this valve is removed you can get about another 10-15bhp. He reckons it's a half-hour job.

Anyone know what he is on about and if so, is it safe to do and does it work....?

Only thing I could think of along those lines is the EGR valve - certainly NOT 30mins to remove - well, not unless he can pull an engine, remove the valve, and refit again in that time anyway lol. The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve is not open under full throttle conditions anyway, which is where you'd want the extra power really, so you won't notice any difference removing it - UNLESS the valve has become jammed, where it will cause running problems.

Cheers Andy!

TBH is seemed a bit too good to be true, but I thought I'd ask anyway. The Tsunami guys seem sincere enough and they are a well helpfully tunning shop for anyone in the Newcastle area.
