Hi Rich

Havnt a clue i have a manual, probably some kind of sports mode but welcome aboard another one mad enough to buy a zed!!

Cheers

Kirbz

Power makes the gearbox hold the revs higher until it changes gear.

I think the hold keeps it in the current gear. Or it could be the overdrive.

Kirbz, please dont say that i'm another one mad enough to buy one, you got me wantin to sell it already......lol

Cheers guys, thought it was some sort of sport mode, still got my auto vectra which has the sport mode botton on top of stick, so must be the same thing.

There is one more problem, when driving the car and turn to change lanes for example there is this shudder from the rear like the rear axel is coming lose......has anyone ever heard of something like this before?

Cheers again for any advice.........Rich

how much dod u pay for the car if u don't mind me asking ?

Sounds like it could be a problem with the HICAS - mine makes strange noises when i switch lanes.

Someone else gave me this link on how to run diagnostic (although i've not actually done it yet!!)

Power mode does indeed let it rev higher before changing up, and allows the box to change down 2 gears if required when you boot it hard.

Hold keeps the box in as high a gear as possible for fuel economy. It's almost impossible to kick it down 2 gears and is therefore the ideal setting for nervous drivers or for wet slippery roads. You're unlikely to get any surprises in the middle of a corner ;) . It also makes the car pull away in 2nd gear, rather than 1st, and is therefore handy for icy roads.

The setting in the middle is for normal driving (A/T). It will allow you to change down 2 gears but changes up earlier than sport; so better fuel economy I guess.

Best to keep it in A/T for normal driving, Hold in crap weather and Sport when you feel the need for speed :D

The overdrive button is really only there to let you switch it off in heavy traffic (you'll find it keeps changing up and down at certain speeds - switching the O/D off stops that, holding it in the lower gear!)

Rich, mine does'nt make noises and the Hicas light is'nt on to detect a fault, feels like some sort of axel problem, hav'nt really drove it my self yet cos got no plates so will let peeps know how i feel it when get to drive the beast.

Conrad, cheers m8 for all that info, appreciate it.
