It would appear that the prices of Z32's are now getting to the point that buying a whole spares car might actually be worthwhile.

 

I was wandering around my local jap importers yesterday and saw that he had quite a few skylines in stock. I asked him what he would give me for my immaculate jap import twin turbo (manual) against one of the skylines.

 

£3K mate, came the reply. £3K !!!!!!!! my car comes with 10 months MOT, tax, all the toys, 79K miles and not a blemish on the paintwork. £3k !!!!!!

 

Its official. The Z32 must be the most underated sports car around at the moment.

 

The skyline in question was a tidy car but at 10K I would have had to find another £7K. Needlesss to say I decided not to take the matter further.

ive been thinking about chopping my zed in for a supra but then realised the zeds the best looking car on the road. every time i see one i think thats nice whats that, then i realise. dont do it keep the zed

...and if he took it in p/x it'd end up on the forecourt for £5000!!

If you do a trade in on any car they'll offer youn cr*p prices!!!

But the Zed is going up in price on the forecourt, some are going at 6K.

I went to look at a 90 import NA at a place near Durham. They were asking 6k for it!! They had put a rather nice cream leather interior in but still!

Was that at performance cars at Seaham? If so could you give me your thoughts on the condition of it please? Thinking about buying it but I live in Bristol!

It wasn't at performance cars at Seaham, it was at a place on the other side of Durham near Bear Park. ...although I do think it might be the same car! A firend of mine mentioned it. On the whole I thought it looked quite clean. Its main distinguising feature the the fact that one of the retractable mirrors had been glued on though!

 

How much are they asking for it?

Yup, thats the one. It is a nice interior ...but thats a hell of a lot of money for an NA! Must admit, when I was looking at it they were asking 6k and I didn't really give it much attention. I certainly didn't drive it or hear it running. If you're serious I could possibly pop in and have a look. I'm no engineer but I could compare it to mine

 

Sure you could get a nice twin turbo for that money, or a choice of NAs and still have change after getting an interior of your choice fitted!

Paid £2490 for mine..far from mint but very clean and as not let me down as such. New Tubs due to De cat...etc .

So stands me at close to £4.5k so don't think I done bad.

Anyone that can remember back to my 1st posts I did a direct swap...Volvo 850 T5 for the Z. So happy with the move too.

Also agree that when I see a Z on the road I think they are still one of the best looking cars around for the money.

I currently own a modified MR2 Turbo....after having owned a Supra N/A. My Mr2 is considerably faster than the Supra....but doesnt quite look as good....IMO

On the other hand I think the Zed's are gorgeous looking cars ...offering more than a big rear wing and wide flared arches......it's just that little bit more subtle than the Supra and GTO. I borrowed a TT 300ZX for the weekend and was amazed by the amount of torque it had.....but essentially I'm not a big racer and do not feel the extra power is essential for me these days.

I take it that the 300ZX N/A is similar in performance to a non-Turbo Supra?
