weve just finished installing maccas new rad and it looks the dogs danglies,what a bloody nite mare fitting it tho, took us bloody 7 hours,we only got it finished at 4am ,macca nos how to drigve a hard bargain, 7 hours free labour and a cheap koyo rad

I was thinking about ordering one of these but now I'm not so sure.....7 HOURS LABOUR?? -what was the problem?

Yeah :confused: - I'd never swapped a rad before and it took a couple of hours for my standard one...what was the problem?

Two years ago I fitted my rad from start to finish within the hour,this bast@rd thing was a total nightmare,it was just too deep to drop down and fit through the gap:(

 

All the SS Smithy pipes had to be removed to allow play in the IC pipes,still no joy,after a few hours of blood and sweat we finally get it to fit.

 

Oh NO the top rad hose is too long,ever tried to cut one of Smithys SS hard pipes using a hacksaw you can ride bare arse to London on?

 

The Koyo rad is an awesome piece of kit,however if you are thinking of getting one then please beware!

Bacofoiled sticky paper stuff.

Just thinking aloud here really, but maybe it would be easier to fit the rad from underneath - even the stock rad can get caught on the IC pipes, so thicker ones are a royal PITA. I'll have a look to see if its possible - would require a ramp of some kind of course....

Looked at this Andy,I think the fan would have to come off to do this,as from the underside as the lower rad mounts are in the way,then try and get the fan bolts to tighten up with a 4" gap to get your hand in:(

Ahhh - but you can take off the viscous clutch with fan assembly as one piece ;) Much easier gap to get in then ;)

I was thinking about ditching my viscous fan in favour of a thinner electric jobbie - would this make it easier to fit the rad??

NO leccy fan can flow as much air as the viscous jobby - I'd steer well clear if I was you - they can cause quite major cooling probs.... ;)

OK, so the Koyo is a PITA - does anyone else manufacture uprated Z rads?

 

As a matter of curiosity how many horses have people got running on stock cooling? (Over say 350bhp...?)

ive also got the bigger rads comin soon(pwr) ,but i think they will be a bigger prob 4 inch core...full stainless end and look even better than koyo ....only prob is they are lots more dosh.. approximate 480 quid

 

 

these koyo rads are about 330 quid +shipping in the uk.i can get a lot cheaper if i get a minimum of 10 rads....... approx 230 quid all in

 

let me no if ya want a night mare and bare knuckles lol

Can I just make sure that all in means the final price delivered to your door. i.e. not extra VAT or customs charges as to some people it means different things. Also are they definatley koyo or a copied version (not that it really matters, just wondering about a warrenty)?

S'nuthin' - just measured the end tanks on the ones that Waz had made in SA and they are 73mm !!!!!! Now that is a tight fit ....
