If someone gave you a fuel additive that is not available to the general public would you try it.

The company in question supplies fuel for

Ferrari F1

Petronas

NASCAR

Formula 3000

jag

and various other companies that he was not allowed to tell me about . He was not even allowed to tell me what went in or what it was called.

Anybody got any equiptment to test this stuff ???

Mike

F1 cars do not use super unleaded or optimax neither do other race teams like formula 3000 and nascar etc , fuels are all made specifically for them with various additives etc.

Correct, I think we (Shell) formulate different fuels as well as lubricants for different Formula 1 races, because different circuits favour slightly different engine conditions.

I have a 2yr old Saab turbo still under warranty perhaps I'll try it on that first that way if it goes bang Saab can replace the engine ;) :D

You can try it in my daily driver E-reg 1.4 4spd Escort Estate - maybe it'll help it do a 0-60 in THIS century? :)

If it speeds that thing up then imagine what it can do for a Zed, if not it'll probably only cost a £5 to fix *grin*

Fuel additives that give power increases are prohibited, at least last time I read the rules they were.

FIA Rules & Regulations Technical Regulations Fuel

Formula One cars run on petrol, the specification of which is not that far removed from that used in regular road cars. Indeed, the FIA regulations state that the rules are “intended to ensure the use of fuels which are predominantly composed of compounds normally found in commercial fuels and to prohibit the use of specific power-boosting chemical compounds.”

All fuel must comply with strict requirements and prior to each race the teams must supply the FIA with two separate five-litre samples for analysis and approval. Additional samples can then be taken during the event to ensure that there is no discrepancy between the fuel being used and that previously supplied in the samples.

more beaurocracy - ultimate racing is the way to go in my book - massive turbos, nitrous, top fuel etc, etc.:D ;)
