I know this is a bit old but for a car designed ~1989 it shows just how good the Z really is :D

If I may dust of an old saying

"See it" ;)

Yeah good article.

Considering the 300ZX came out when the old RX-7 turboII was going, the square fat Supra was going, the GT3000 wasnt out and I dont think the NSX was out or was not far off.

I like the picture of all the cars driving down the road in formation, obviously the photographer didnt read the warning not to place any body part out of the hatch while the car is moving ;)

There was another US article where writers and editors had 4 cars to test 300ZX, Supra, RX-7 and I think a Corvette and say which they would like to have. I think nearly every one picked the 300ZX. It wasnt the fastest, it wasnt the most powerful, but they all said it was the best to drive.

Stuart

I just noticed out of all the pics, why is the 300ZX driver wearing a crash helmet?

I can't Imagine Mr T being too impressed with the reviewer in the Soops, but by god he looks like he's having fun!

(and wouldn't you be too in someone else's car pulling off sh*t like that!?)

As much as the Z review is favourable, I still can't believe the bloody yanks marked it down for not having a blinkin' cup holder!!!!!!!!

I love the pic of the Z racing round. The rear wheels are smoking and he is obviously drifting it. :D

Found another review from '89!!!!

Purely Z tho...! :)

Z review from '89

Bewarned this is hosted on Angelfire so you may have some pop-ups  grrrrr!

What site you get these from?

I remember finding a site with loads of articles like this on, but I cant find it again. But I think you are on it now.

Stuart

I don't remember all the sites, I just copy and paste links into a little notepad file as and when I see something I want to keep Just In Case ;)

Comes in handy for the tech docs etc...

It's rare I can be ars*d to sit and surf alot but when I do I don't stop until my ISP cuts me off *lol* :D

What gets annoying is when you get a good link and the site disappears! But hey I only have so much hard disk space :p

If you right click the links and choose properties, they should give you the parent domains the files are listed on so you can scout around a bit more...?

Don't forget Americans were building muscle cars capabale of impressive (by today's strandards) in the early 70s. 1989 is not that old.

They are impressive because they have 6 litre engines and only produce 300bhp and maybe tune to 400bhp if they are lucky.

But American cars bhp per litre is terrible.

isn't that because they have 2 valves/cylinder ? all I'm saying is that they must be good cars/engines to have had such good performance aty a time when British cars were crap ?

maybe I'm talking crap

Oh man I love the quotes for the 3000GT

I can't remember what ad. it came from but 'Power is nothing without control'... :)

No point having a 6.0l v12 if it can't go round a bend!!!!

Reminds me of the 'Stop! Police'/'Worlds craziest drivers' clip of a Golf GTI MkII running rings around a caravans in a trailer park (and a 5.0l police car) - after Porky Pig hit 2 caravans and spun out the Golf was looooooong gone! *lol*

:D :D :D

Sorry m8, wasn't me but I've seen that one zipping about too - I have spotted about 8 Z's down here, but not many (bar 2 I know of) seem to be on the forum tho! :(

My Z is a jappo '90 TT 2+2 in the metallic black colour - you'd know it was me tho cos the car is stock except for a small-ish Touring Car type wing-thing!

Is there anywhere I can u/l a piccy?

At the mo my Z is deaded :(

Good news is I think I've found why it won't start....

Bad news is it looks like a BHG (or blown zed gasket) :(

I know this is gonna sound weird but I'm kind relieved I know what it is - cos I can start to plan repairing her now...

If any1z interested I am gonna post the gory details in the Tech Help and Advice bit!

Also had *another row* with my dealer Westover Nissan who seem to think that:

a) a Consult tool isn't portable so to test my car I'd need to tow it to them and even better (or should that be worse!?):

b) Z32's older than 1992 did come with a diag port for the consult to plug into!!!!! But what do I know? I only drive the thing and keep hitting my hand on the port everytime I pop the bonnet!

Bloody typo's that should read:

"b) Z32's older than 1992 didn't come with a diag port"

I am sick of these cowboys, we are supposed to be able to trust - if they are like this with the Z32 - imagine taking a 350Z there????!

Surely there must be someone we can report these jokers to who'll actually do something about them?
