as some of you may know one of my turbos blew a few months back (only 2 weeks after buying the car:mad: ). i've saved all my money since and have as much as i'll have before i start uni next month. so it's coming to crunch time, and i'll be booking the car in to get done in the next few weeks.

i'm planning on ordering the courtesy 60k service kit, as hopefully getting the parts fitted should hopefully cost less with the engine out.

other than that are there any other jobs that are worth doing? i guess it would make sense to change the det sensor, as long as it isnt too expensive?

does anyone know a garage that knows their stuff about zeds in the north kent or very south essex area? cant be too expensive hourly rate though as i need to keep costs to a minimum :) and cant travel too far as i dont want to do any more damage to the turbo or engine:(

PCVs, and for the cost of it, I would get all your piping renewed.

However, it depends on how much you can afford, as to where you can take your car. If you have 2K, SE do a good upgrade from what I've heard but I do not have first hand experience. Best of asking those that have and form your own picture.

I believe SE do a turbo upgrade for £2K, so anything else would be more.

cheers cos. the pcv's are very hard but not impossible to do with engine in so i think i'll do them myself in the near future.

the SE turbo upgrade you was talking about, is that 2 grand for 2 new tubs completely fitted? where abouts is SE based though cos i cant travel very far.

cheers, Ed

nice one simmo. having all the part numbers in one place is a real help.

still no way im gonna do it myself, although i may need the guide for the mechanic who gets the terrible job of doing the work, every garage i ring says they never have or never would do that job on a zed!:D

cheers for the help!

I would seriously recommend you finding someone who knows his Z's. There's a lot of pipes and connectors to go back on correctly :)

Going to see a Zed with 59k miles on. What is involved in the 60k service cam belt and what else.

I want to make sure all jobs are done. How much should i be looking at if i did decide to get it done myself.

thanks

How much for that little lot supply n fitted :)

have an ask at progress engineering in maidstone - ask for dave

regards,

alex

Anyone got a ballpark figure so i can haggle :D leaving soon so need a figure.;)

to do a cambelt and change those bits would be around £250-300 for labour.

Vijay

definitely agree vijay, dont want to let someone do the job unless thay know exactly what they're doing! do you know if progress engineering charge reasonably. they aint too far from me so i would think of going their.

do you know if progress engineering charge reasonably

Sorry I have no idea as I've never used them.

Vijay

yeh progress are quite reasonable although they seem really busy at the moment. The best person to ask for a reference is SteveE they have done a lot of work to his car for some time now.
