also any heard of a power FC ECU its new on the market and ment to be better than JWT.

Also do you know of any specialists in the UK.

No where near 4 seconds unforts. The zed is one heavy mother. You might see 5 seconds but you'd have to be damn good off the line.

Jizz, shut it :p

I dont know of anyone in the UK who've got a power FC set up on a Z yet - for less hassle a WT or Mines ECU is probably the way to go.......

A 4wd Cossie with siimilar horsepower will have a faster 0-60 time cos of all that pesky grip they've got at launch.....once your rolling though that 4wd is just transmission loss and it'll be a different story

;)

Jaffa, your 0-60 times will be heavily penalised by the weight of the Z32 1500+Kg. I would have thought if you get a perfect launch, retain traction etc. you would be getting around 5 seconds. You'd be better off comparing 1/4 mile times, I reckon will be circa 14 seconds depending on what track you're at.

With that set up I reckon you could be getting around 300 -350 RwBHP with a manual, that equates to around 400bhp at the crank.

You could test your current 0-60 times at North Weald this Sunday. http://www.donnyshow.co.uk a few of the boys will be there and you can check out their set ups.

Getting close to 50 posts now!!

Jaffa, Power FC is not available for the Z as far as I know. I will be bringing the Zemulator over veyr soon from the states which allows for as much adjustment and more (MAP's are fully scaleable so no limit as far as ECU goes). Also you dont loose the VTC, Aircon control and other factory ecu controlled items. Also cheaper than the Power FC:) .

To get 450 hp you need to do a fair bit more than what you have listed, you will need to sort out the fueling and intercooling before you can get up there. Oh and who knows how long the stock turbos will last at that sort of HP / boost.

All the best and good luck with you 4 second 0-60.

SParKZ

Are you bringing the Zemulators in for resale? or just so you can have one and laugh at the rest of us mere mortals?

Looks like there are two Jaffa's here now :(

Interesting note on the old AFM though - thanks DuffMan :)

Nah closer to 13seconnds 1/4 mile I reckon. Easy.

I'm running 350+ RWBHP and my best 1/4 mile is 13.5, haven't seen anybody without injectors / internal mechanical mods etc. running a faster time. I normally run 13.5 - 14 unless I fluff it off the line, or crunch 2nd to 3rd

The quickest I've seen with standard mechanicals and injectors was a guy called Malcolm about two years ago (Don't think he comes on the forum). His set up was basically the same as mine...except he had Nitrous.. and he ran 12.8 at North Weald.

BTW UK manual, and Red, which confirms red is the fastest and UK manwells are the best:p ......Malcolm's was Red too:p

But if he didn't have nitrous....what would the outcome be??:D :) ;)

Oops gone over 50 posts now...gonna need to get my cheque book out.

I just looked up an old Z Club Magazine and it was Malcolm Lowe, so it may be that we are talking about two different guys. At the North Weald Z Club Drag Challenge he ran the best time for a Twin Turbo of 14.071, no mention of Nitrous.

His registration ended in TT.

Colin Ashford(?) runs13.0-13.2 with just zorst, filter, uprated intercoolers, boost increase to 1.1 bar, traction control and a leccy fan - standard injectors/turbos/internals.

And its an auto (boo hiss)

And its black (woohoo:D }

I stand by my original times ;) Maybe those times were on hot days etc?

My best (TT, red :D, auto, Exhaust, decat, intake... at the time) was a shave over 14seconds @102mph (see avatar ;) )

Got chip,12 psi & ALC now so hoping to take 1/2 a second off.

13 seconds can't be that hard with higher boost and things? Adam - whats your estimated time when running well?

Pete

I'm guessing 12.8 - 12.9

Dont ask about yesterday - bag of utter shite....on one run I wheelspun the entirety of second gear - squeeeeeek squueeeeeek!!

Interestingly the Evo I killed on the way home was doing low 13's:rolleyes: :p

Mac,

At the time he had a standard looking car. I think Malcolm Yule was up in Scotland or somewhere near there, wasn't he?

We should set up a Z Club meet at one of the Santapod "Run What Ya Brung" events and get some bench marks down for what mods equate to what performance levels.

Maybe when the weather is cooler to help the Turbos.
