Hi,

Just been looking at Mac1's spec and notice he has dump valves. I didn't realise you could put dump valves on an automatic. If you can is there much modification required and what are the advantages and disadvantages if any??

I have Blitz bov's on my auto......no mod needed. Fitted them myself in place of the re-circs.

U can fit dump valves to any zed aslong as it is a TT. Iv got HKS on my manual the problem with autos is apparently they dont sound as loud when u change gear due to the auto box (apparently quote me if im wrong on this guys) and on top with a manual u can standstill and rev the shits out of them and hear the dumps while in a auto ur stuck coz u gotta have it in gear and thats not good for ur car. On top mac i think has got blitz blow off valves (im not sure) where the hks ones iv got are dump valves they give two different kinda noise mine give the typical common noise pattiiiisssssshhhhhh (which i love) and they give a rally type whooosshhhh.

I thought you had HKS on yours James .

They are still quite loud though even on your auto.

I got HKS on my manual and have been told that they are too loud.

I don't know whether the BOVs sound louder on manuals than autos but I'm pretty sure that you can rip the shit out of your BOVS in an auto without having to put the ride into gear:rolleyes:

They don't make any sound when you change gear in an auto as you dont take your foot off the throttle;)

Mine are VERY loud, yes I can also rev mine at the lights as I do have a neutral too:D;)

Up the power a bit more and you'll have a box FULL of neutrals :p:D

Will I gain anything from changing from recircs to bov's other than the ever so lovely whoosh sound???

Zedhot

They already have recycling valves on them so why would you want to change them unless you like the sound of dump valves that vent to air. Recycling valves are actually better than dump valves that vent to air unless you are pumping out well over 600 BHP.
