Today seen how far you can take a cam belt mileage .... to extreams that resulted in the pics attached! a non starter? the engine had failed at relatively low speed, after removing the belt and setting the timing (valve and crank way out) a new belt and away she went no noise just purred away with NO damage not bad for a 145k miler on what looks like the original belt!

Shit!!! i think its mine guys. I have just picked up my car today after a low speed belt failer. But i will say that i know this is not it origional belt,i have a box of bills one of which is for a belt change before i brought the car two years ago.And as far as my looking after my cars i do the car is a well sorted Z and has never given me any bother befor i was threatning to sell it.I am a car lover not a hater besides i do own two Ferraris as well thank f**k it was not one of them i may not have got away lightly. BUT i do drive my babies very very hard. Like i said at the begining of the thread Shit i think its mine!!

My dad nearly got a 328gts years ago.

I just done a cambelt on a Testarossa 512...for the measly sum of £1500!!! Bargain i say!!

£1500 for a cambelt change, F***ing ELL, thats bloodyn good saying the whole engine has to come out, cost me more than double that for my Testarossa.Well done dude. Oh and no my cars are not parked on the street there in a hanger. But saying that if they were parked on the street i am sure people would apreaciate my works of art;) ,and lets face it house prices would boom!:D .Chaz

Hope ya didnt get charged 3k for ya belt change,its only £2200 at the dealers prices.And do ya know that the 2 belts are only £48 for the pair from Maranello in London[Ferrari uk official importers].

Also ya can do the job in 2 days without breakin ya back,its pretty easy,whole engine and transaxle drops out on the rear engine cradle in one piece.

I thought £1400 for 2 days work was a fair price to charge!!!But we did change his oil and filter.So dont feel bad about ya £3k change.They must be charging £200 per hour labour rate!!
