try this site http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/boostJets/boostJets.html

You can use mig welder tips as boost jets they come in different sizes so you can get different amounts of boost. but you must have a good after market boost gauge as the one on the car is no good.

AFAIK - I believe that 14psi would be attained with 2 x 1mm tips. I would get that confirmed though. I may be wrong.

I think one 0.6mm tip on one side alone will produce around 11-12PSI.

Get it checked before you do anything.

Iv been running 1.0 mm jets for about a year now - gives around 16psi initially, then settles to around 14psi.

might be a little high for some ;) but i like it :D

see if you can get 1.1mm ones, 1.2mm gave me 12 psi

I think you need 0.8mm jets mate but not 100% sure though. Mine were installed by Jeff at Zedworld. Speak to him and he will tell you.

i would start on 1.2/1.1 mm & work down! going straight for 0.8mm could be a bit dodgy

just searched for an old post when I did mine. These were the results. BTW I have kgf/square cm as my boost measurment on my aftermarket guage, have translated into PSI.

No Jets: 0.64 kgf/square cm = 9.10294 lbf/square inch (PSI)

1.2mm Jets: 0.84 kgf/square cm = 11.947609 lbf/square inch (PSI)

1.0mm Jets: 0.92 kgf/square cm = 13.085476 lbf/square inch (PSI)

I have stuck with the 1.0mm gives a great power increase at a safe level and allows for spikes etc

By putting in 1.2mm boost jets, would there be a need to retard the timing and/ or put in an ugraded ECU?

Cheers

LOL!!!! This thread just proves what was initially said - EVERY CAR IS DIFFERENT!!! You MUST HAVE a proper boost guage (even a temporary one will be fine) to increase the boost using boost jets. 1mm tips will give different boost on different cars - it is impossible to say what tip will give what boost for this reason. Don't fuck about, do the job properly. Upgraded ECU is also pretty much essential over 12-13 psi.

Ah Andy - the voice of reason and persuasion!!!!!

Good advice tho.

Sure they were 1.2 but you might be right.

Think the reasoning was it might spike to over 15psi without a proper controller, so just set it to 12 to be safe.
