Slow puncture - Repair OR New?

Can you repair a slow puncture??

I have a bolt (head is about 8mm) not sure how wide the thread is but it's right in the centre of the tyre (on the tread) on the rear drivers side!!

Is it a new tyre?

OR

Is it a repair?

I dont see any reason why you shouldn't get it repaired, if its in the centre repair is no problem. I take it you have enough tread left on the tyre to make it worth while.

Much cheaper than a new tyre!!!!

It's got almost new boots all round, covered about 2000 miles with loads of tread left!!

I just looked on-line at some prices to replace;

Michelin Pilot Sport 265/35 ZR 18 - £252.18 per tyre!!

If I have to buy new I have to but would rather reapir it, it's right in the middle as well, hell knows where I managed to pick it up!

Don't panic Matty, if its central then its easy to repair. Just make sure you take it to a decent tyre shop!!

Good luck

I wondered where I had dropped that bag of bolts at Billing!!:D :D

I've had several repairs done in the past, all with no problem !

I did plan to put new rubber on before I took it on track though....but then forgot and did 30 laps at Donnington

Still no problems ! :)

YAY!!

£10 out of pocket and one fixed puncture later, I'm back on the road!! ;)

10mm bolt with a 4 mm thread was the culprit!!

No pics as I booted said bolt into the river, serves a warning to all other bolts that want to hitch a ride........:D
