Hi Guys

I know people have 19's on their Zed's but are there any problems with having 19 inch alloys.

My new Zed has 18's on at the moment but i dont like them (5 spoke) so if i'm changing them i might put 19's on as long as there are no problems

Cheers

Depends, if you want to build such a close relationship with the surface of the road, why not drag yourself behind the car sitting on your bare arse!

Seriously though, you will feel every blemish in the road surface and total your wheels, suspension or both everytime you hit a pothole.

(My mate had 19" wheels and lowered suspension on a race prepared Saab 900 and it drove him mad using it on the roads - it was great on the track though!)

IF YOUR INTERESTED IN SELLING YOUR 18'S LET ME KNOW THE DETAILS AS I AM LOOKING FOR SOME AT THE MOMENT

Hi Lee

As soon as i get the car i will let you know what tyres etc

Cheers

Mike

Have you looked at the cost of tyres for 19"! £200+. Also I think the car looks better on 17". I've got 19" on one of my cars (admittedly they're not very nice wheels) and my other car with really nice 17" wheels looks much better and you can get muuuch cheaper tyres and a decent choice. Also it may be the crap 19" wheels I've got but the wheel protudes beyond the tyre cause of the low profile (30) and if you scuff a kerb it's the wheel that gets it not the tyre.

IMHO I think the best wheel size for a Z is 18.

16" too small

17" 1 inch hardly worth the expense;)

18 SPOT ON!

19 a little on the hard ride side;)

Does anyone really have 16s?

The look of wheels on a car is a huge topic though.

I just changed mine and the new wheels look positively puny compared to the older (rays) versions. I discovered that this is due to

1. old wheels had spacers pushing them out

2. old wheels were wider rims (but used the same tyres)

Weird how much difference it makes, but I'm now thinking of getting the old wheels refurbed and put back on!

I've got 19" and yes it is slightly harsher than when I had the OEM's on but the road holding and driving is sharper and more fun, and they look great.

Geoff.

have you any pics of your car? sounds nice

Hi Leezx, there are pics posted on forum somewhere. I hope to put some new ones with the new exhausts when I get it back tommorow.

Thanks for compliments.

Geoff.

Yes Jeff, I saw your car at Billing and it looked great. I must admit that the interior was my favourite bit though
