Yesterday, I started my manual import na z as usual, depressed the clutch and ended up with a squirt of grease on my ankle! I got my head as far into the footwell as possible to have a look but could see nothing. Everything still worked okay, although the clutch seemed a bit lighter.

Today I was driving along quite happily, as usual, when something fell on my foot! It was a spring, about two inches long, covered with a plastic type covering. one end has a hook, the other end looked snapped.

What is this for? All the pedals still seem to work. I'm just worried that all of a sudden i'm going to be stranded.

All answers and help gratefully received as ever.

As the clutch pedal seemed lighter, I would guess thats the spring for the pedal snapped! .......but what would I know, I've got an auto.

Good answer - not very helpful, but thanks.

The clutch does not seem to return to as high a position - it comes to just over biting point (if you know what that is, driving an auto!!)

Cheers.

Ha ha!! not very helpful?? Your spring has snapped, what else can I say??? The spring would help it return to its position rather than doing much when you press it down I guess.

Erm........what else do you want to know? :D

Thanks Mike.

Very helpful diagram. Don't think the spring is part of the clutch so thats one worry. I'll have a proper look at the weekend.

Cheers.

P.S. Thanks for being special James!
