Hi All,

 

Anyone else have problems with getting their knees under the steering wheel? I'm about 6'2" - how do the likes of Herman Munster cope with the cramped conditions which were obviously intended to our little oriental cousins...?

 

I noticed Mac1 has one of those steering wheels that looks like it's been hammerred flat at the bottom - do these help?

 

I only really have a problem when it comes to braking in a hurry - that's the last time you want to have a problems though...

 

It doesn't help that I've just had a hip resurfaced I guess....;)

I'm 6' 3" and I think it's one of the roomiest cars I have ever driven :)

James , Mine is a Jap and I can lower my seat

I have never been able to get me knees under the steering wheel of any car I have ever driven, but then I'm around 6'7".

 

What I do it make sure the seat is all the way back (obviously) but the back of the seat as far forward as it will go, then raise the front of the seat as far as it will go, this then supports the underside of my legs too. I still can't get my legs under the wheel but this is comfortable for me.

 

The biggest problem I have is, top of the steering wheel tends to cut the top of the Speedo off, so I can't see any of the numbers between 50 and about 130!

 

I find these cars to be very comfortable to drive, I just wish the steering column was adjustable so I could read all the numbers.

Anyone seen that episode of Mr.Bean when he's sat on an armchair on his roof controlling the steering with two pieces of rope....?;)

 

S'pose it still wouldn't help Mike's speedo problem... I usually end up looking at the speed on the AVC-R - more accurate too.

 

So how would I adjust the height of the seat? Is it obvious on inspection?

On mine you have two switches for the elecric seat if you push the front one left or right the front of the seat goes up or down and on the back switch it does the same for the back of the seat

Well fook me!! I have just had to go out to my car and see!

Had it 3 years now and didn't know it went up and down! Thought it went backwards and forwards, and the back too, and that was it! ........there you go! Something else for me to play with.....not that I.......ah f\/ck it.

yep, my Jap NA is adjustable for height. Buttons on the side of the seat

Lol.. I couldn't even get in and out of a Z if I couldn't lower the seat all the way down :) How could you not know you could do that James? :D

I'm amazed - had the car a year and a half and never new the seat had all those planes of movement :eek:

Well it was set all the way down so never had to see if it did go up or not! It was set perfect...........sh1t, what have I admitted to. I'm going to edit all the posts so the thread doesn't make sense!

you're working on the premise that your posts made sense to start with james. Think you just have to take that one on the chin :)
