what type of power are t28s good for, and yup i know what you mean, people dont realize that 400bhp is really a lot of power

and whgat doeas #6 mean sorry for the ignorence

but we still beat australia at the rugby lol, now you guys are next lol

Yeah - I thought it might be a bit opptomistic myself on these turbos - Do you know Kevin from Majestic Turbo in Waco( think Damon uses them a lot) - he built them to Run aound 600hp.

Im not sure of the exact specs off the turbos off the top of my head as i dont have the invoice with us a he did sooo much shit to them - basically they are T3 wheels with a 60 trim or the cold side - Can't remmeber what wheels were on the hot side now frown.gif sorry! - Fully Polished and sorted housings, Lightened a balanced spindles, Bullet on the hot and cold side and 360 thrust cartridge.

Was really thinking of going for the Full ballbearing GT turbos but was put off by the reliability the Japanese get from them,.

Looking to minimize the Driveline losses as much as possible - this aint really being built to be a drag car so loss of Torque off the line aint gonna worry me too much.

Hoping to be sitting on a pile of cash come the new year so im gonna see what numbers this set up is throwing out and go from there - Think Kevin is a bit optomistic with his numbers but he has built so Dam Quick cars and bikes. I'll shoot ya a mail witht eh exact specs when i dig em out and we should see how they run i an few weeks fingers crossed smile.gif

300z #6 failure = holed #6 piston, burnt ringland.. whatever you want to call it. Too much heat build up in the rear two cylinders partly attributed to the hot exhaust gasses not getting out fast enough. as for the rugby.. HA didn't we get you guys on your HOME ground where SA are typically pretty tough to beat. Bring it on brother (I work with 5 South Africans here ... great fun after a game..)

Nico - We've seen 255kw@wheels in an auto at 15psi on turbos similar to those but with the bigger T3 front housings (not a carved out stock housing). If you've got manual turbine housings you might make 600 @ the fly.. but the problem is getting (if you're using stock housings front and rear) too much heat buildup. I'd be reluctant to push them past 20psi. 20psi will be a tonne of grunt. I suggest you use EGT guages and keep a safe margin, the power is all well and good but blown engines are not cheap. Particularly when the piston crown melts and welds itself to the side of the block .. seen it done ..

BTW 600hp doesn't = 550rwhp, 50 hp driveline loss.. hmm you'd have a pretty good driveline if that was the case smile.gif

Rowan

Yeah think you are about spot on there. And yes you read my mind exactly got a set of Apexi EGT's in the mail now - will see what kinda heat we are pushing back and go from there!

As for pushing more that 20psi on that setup - no chance - i doubt i could ever get that much to the road anyway in this country with our cheap ass road surfaces.(love to know where that 155 quid a year on road tax goes frown.gif )

50hp loss thru the driveline - challenging - but i'll try wink.gif. And hey if that Fails - i'll just strap a bottle on there and claim silly figures like some people !

TD06's how much did they cost you or Dare i ask ! - would of love 05's myself but 5K for a set of turbos Jeez.

Z ya

you guys have cheap ass road surfaces..LOL.. it's not the surface it's the temperature you never get any sun to warm them up HAHA (and don't try and pull the wool over my eyes.. I've been over to england in summer... in 3 weeks i saw 1 day of what *might* be classed blue sky - mind I was staying near manchester so that could explain it)

re TD06 cost.. dunno.. but we bought it complete with everything on it, unfortunately not my car though frown.gif frown.gif but at least I get to drive it smile.gif smile.gif (in exchange for working on it)

i can get hold of tdo6' 5' and the works including airresearch turbos which are the dogs bollocks, on my car i have t28's and they are pretty wicked i have to say, lots of lag though
