Took my new Z out for its proper drive on Saturday and it was fantastic!!!

The only problem was that when I tried to start it on Sunday it wouldnt. Electrics like seats etc were still working, but it didnt seem to have enough juice to turn over. A rolling bump start got it going no problem, and after just a quick 2 minute trip around the block it was charged up enough that it started again an hour later, so I assume the altenator must be OK.

One minor problem I have is that I dont think my boot is shuting too well and sometimes when it seems closed, the lack of click when I open it again suggests that it wasnt. So my question is, would having the boot not closed properly and thus having the two boot lights on for 18 hours be enough to drain the battery enough not to start the car, or should I be looking for something else?

Cheers,

Andy

I would say that this would be enough to drain the battery as i had a similar thing on a beemer once and that boot was only open for about 7 hours while parked up. If you think this is the case i would shut the boot with the curtain off and then look to see if these lights are on??

Good luck

my passenger side door wasnt clicking the door sensor off and i had the same prob, if i drove it every day it was fine, if i left it a day with out driving , flat battery no start. so yeah i guess it could cause it

If one small light like that causes your battery to go flat then it's probably near the end of it's life. With a bit of simple maths you can work out roughly how long a battery would last with say a 21w bulb, if you know amps/hour rating of the battery.
