TPS prob's?

I went to test the tps today ( had probs with hesitating) I couldnt get the reading I while car was running or not with my volt meter, so i marked it up and moved it. AAARRRRRR when i put it back to the place where it was it idles at 2000 rpm and the only way i can get it down is to swivel it totaly the other way.

Is it knackerd or am I not doing it wright?

Jim.:( :(

You really got to poke that needle in to get a reading! Push it right in. Took me a few attempts before I pushed the needle of my meter in/down far enough.

ok mate, ill go and try it agian? why do you think it wont idle properly on its mark?

Hmmm, not sure about that, sorry mate. Someone else might know? Maybe it has to be reset somehow?

These can be slightly temperamental but the voltage should be .44v. Mine actually read a max of .4v before switching the idle off.

Try removing it and cleaning the connectors.

You need to move it back beyond the mark and slowly forward again. If you hear a click and the revs pick up again, you've gone too far and the idle switches off.

Hope this helps
