Some bast*%d has gone down my driver side with a key last night and gone right through my black paintwork. I've been told that black is the hardest colour to match so does this mean a complete respray or do you guys know better.

Ah, shit man, sorry to hear this. Wouldn't have thought a complete respray is necassary. Where abouts in London are you? I use an EXCELLENT body shop in Sidcup. They really are good. I will go to them every time! I bought my silver Z (another hard colour to match) with a keyed rear quarter panel and they did this for me and I couldn't believe the results.

I'm in Lewisham, not too far.

I added some more to my post, if you want to go over there for a quote, I'll show you where, I'm only round the corner to you. Its a rare place where you get a top job for a good price.....he loves cash jobs.

it should be possible it will just mean fading the paint in,

Ive had a lot of paintwork touched up on my white car and it looks perfect, whites a difficult colour due to the way it shows sahdows, you just have to go to a good bodyshop, I can recommend one near me but james is probably closer to you.

What are their prices like? I don't want to go through my insurance.

I got my whole rear quarter panel done and he blended onto the door and it was (iirc) about £120. I'll take a photo and post it up in a bit.

You can't tell the quality via the pics. But if you did want to see mine for yourself, just let me know.

That looks like a really nice job. Does he fit spoilers too?

Well, he's fitting and painting my 99 front. I have seen some unbelievable motors in there, thats for sure. Yeah, he would fit spoilers. My little job was done over a year ago now.

If I had a whole kit to fit then I would prob make the journey to PPS -purely for his experience on Z's but have 100% confidence in this guy too.

Well I've seen James car many times and I can say that you really can't see any joins or overspray or anything, looks like it was all painted at the same time.

Ev, i feel for you pal, believe me i know how you feel, mine got to go to pps some time in the near future, due to some little tit doing the same to mine, see pic.:(

Only good news is i heard the scrote who did it has been in a car accident the other day, sadly he survived, but at least its a bit of poetic justice.

Hope who ever did yours suffers a similar fate.

All the best.

I'll have to get a quote on monday from the insurance approved garage, a friend who does this kind of work says it would cost around a grand to spray the side of the car. I have to fork out the first 300 quid but I do have no claims bonus protection. Would you believe if I do claim I won't lose my no claims but my premium will still go up

Yeah. Stupid isnt it.

Do driving points last 3 years on your licence or something, but the when asking for any driving convictions they want it for the past 5 years.

Point last 4 years, mines all clean now though!!

The company is called D&G Crash Repairs and if you phone-ask for Dominic, he's the main man. Do me a favour and say James with the silver 300zx gave you his number. This will also set you up for the nice cash deal I mentioned earlier!

Phone number is 020 8859 5354.
