O.K. I know this has probably been raised hundreds of times but I'm curious about the official perfomance comparisons between the two cars.

I know the manual does 60 in a bout 6 seconds and 100 in about 15 - 16 seconds.

What are the figures for the Auto?

I've also heard that the auto's run slightly different boost pressure for more low down torque. Anyone care to comment?

All the best.

Martin.

I was thinking about getting a 6 speed dog box when I've payed off some of my current debt:rolleyes: but I keep seeing f*cked gtir aftermarket boxes which is a bit of a worry as they're not running much more than 400brake...

You might want to try quaife Ian, they do all sorts of sequential boxes and they're based in the UK. You could get a 7sp for the 205! Is it really worth the cash though, these things are ££££ and the Z has such a wide torque band you don't really need the extra gears.

John I think Latz is looking into fitting one into his Mondeo,If it is good I may go down that road;)

RED AUTO WITH SHIFT-AT-WILL...

Not quite true - it's torque at the wheels that makes the car go faster, not torque from the engine - and a six-speed should give you more of that in the right places. But then you lose time from an extra gear shift... so in a Z, you're right, it probably all cancels out in the end. But then again, again, a sequential will give you quicker shifts.

I know on GT3 I've got a close-ratio in the MX5 but not in the Z. :-)
