I went to the JAE show today and have had a nightmare journey home. Firstly my mate noticed water dripping down on his foot. It only seems to happen when the aircon/cold air is on (I haven't tried with hot air). I'm gonna have a look tomorrow by taking the glovebox out and seeing if I can find anything. Have you any ideas what it can be??? I have looked on the forum and it seems that it could be anything from the aircon drain pipe to heater/aircon matrix. By the way the water is clear.

And then to top it off, there was an accident in front of me on the motorway and I went over the debris which damaged the plastic engine undertray (which I've had to pull off, coz it was scraping on the ground). What a day I've had, I'm going out to have too much to drink tonight to drown my sorrows.

Cheers

Vijay

and the temp didn't seem to rise and the water stopped when the air controls were off.

Hi Vijay,

I think it is probably your aircon drain plug.

If I remember, your avc-r harness has been routed through the same hole so the hose may not have been pulledright through.

You don't have to remove the glove box to check this and should be able to see the hose from under the car.

Steve

that is identical to the problem i had.

if the water is dripping onto your feet, then you have filled up the condenser housing and will get over a pint of water out when you drain it.....

take the ecu out before you start, and anything else electrical under there

you will see the rubber pipe, but if it is kinked like mine was, as soon as you free it water will gush out

then you just have to push the pipe back through the firewall, and trying to make sure that it is actually through is the hardest bit, unless you can get under the car

Yourself and Steve were both correct, the pipe had come off and seems to be fine now. I just thought the worst straight away (seeing £ signs dissapearing).

Thanks guys

Vijay

good news then smile.gif

i was convinced mine was the heater matrix, and was just about to start taking the dash out in a friends garage, when he checked that first, and bingo.. problem solved

i was very very happy when that happened wink.gif
