I'm removing mine at the moment but I'm wondering how far back I can strip it? The pipes seem to go into some sort if box thing then their is a tube that comes out and splits into 2 pipes, one goes into a small black box on the wing and the other pipes goes towards the back of the engine.

Cheers

the one going to the back of the engine goes to the exhaust, so if you have de-cats it probably been bunged with something already and you can remove it.

I left the other pipe as it seems to go back to some filter deep in the arch and I don't know what that does!

cheers guys,

I've removed all the piping back to the small box in the engine bay and that's where the instrucions stop. I want to know if I can remove anymore of it?

Cheers

Vijay

The bit on the left no - that's your boost sensor.

The bit on the right yes - that's the AIV solenoid (well, should be - there's two there, one AIV, one EGR.. so long as you remove the right one, you're ok :))

You're best removing it really, and plugging the vacuum line that goes to the plenum that it leaves (there might be two to plug, I forget)

Cheers Aaron. Why would there be a tuve going from the AIV to the boost sensor??????????

Vijay

There shouldn't be.. Well, not directly anyway..

The boost sensor should be T'ed into a line from the balance bar to the AIV solenoid - the T actually reduces the pipe diameter from 4mm to 3mm, and it's sort of a J shape..

Like;

[AIV]-----.-----[balance Bar]
         |
[sensor]--'

yep that's it. So if I remove the AIV thing, how do I plug the "T" bit?

Viajy

Ahh now that's easy ;)..

Leave a tail of hose where the AIV solenoid used to be, and use a tight fitting bolt to plug it (put a cabletie around the hose) - M6 or slightly smaller, probably, so that things look like this;

      >---.------[balancebar]
         |
[sensor]--'

Where the > is the bolt in a hose bit..

Hopefully that makes sense :) Does in my head...
