This weekend, all being well, I should be getting my replacement ECU and Apexi AVC-R fitted (by the hand of the very generous John Dixon...cheers in advance John!:D ).

Was wondering if theres anything extra I need to go out and get beforehand...for example, the manual mentions being able to wire up a "Scramble" button/switch (not supplied) for immediate lower/higher boost...or if anyones got any advice concerning the fitting itself?

Cheers,

Friday.

-mount the avcr's pressure sensor somewhere dry, since it doesn't like water.

-mount the AVCR's headunit somewhere out of direct sunlight...it gets very hot already and it doesn't like any more heat from the sun.

-check for boost/vacuum leaks

-don't forget to disconnect the stock boost solenoids

and....be prepared to get used to the fact that the AVCR has a mind of it's own ;)

Don't s'pose John wants to do mine at the same time, does he? I wanna try the headlamp wash button as the scramble boost (don't have washers any more). If you haven't read the tt-net installation instructions, they're worth a read... they're on US cars so it's a bit mirror image. They also recommend buying a bit more vacuum hose and some better cable-ties. They reckon you should use the self-learn to set it up, but from what I've heard, it's a PITA.
