Hi all, My first time on the forum.

I'm looking at Kicking my 97 WRX out of bed as I've fell in love with an older girl (G plate N/A fairlady) After a quick check over the paint work is top notch original condition, 18" split rims but no leather and of course no TT. I've always loved to mess around under the bonnet and I was wondering if I could do a conversion and drop the twins in later, are the engines the same spec ie. pistons etc or is this just to much hassle, the thing is I have looked at a 450BHP Twin but its been thrashed and the paint was terrible, there's not many around up my end of the country and I'm going to do the deal tomorrow ( If i get any sleep that is?)

My theory being that N/A engine will have had a less abusive life than a 13 year old TT.......

Any advice would be appreciated..............Thanks

To convert a NA to TT is not so simple. People in the US do it but it is cheaper to sell the NA and buy a TT. Plus a TT has the 4 wheel steering which the NA doesnt. I think the NA doesnt have ABS, but I could be mistaken.

If you do go for a NA to TT conversion, your car will be off the road for some time too.

Stuart

I've had an N/A before.............

I'm on my second Twin Turbo now..........

Go N/A you'll regret it as you will want a TT, with regard to the adding TT later.........it's not worth all the hassle and cost.

Buy a TT.

I rest my case. :D

:D

Thanks, I think I'm going to go ahead with the N/A and leave the conversion for now the cars only costing £5k which is much cheapness and when the right TT comes along I'll have 2, the wife can get the N/A, I'm starting to trust her again after she wrote off my previous scoob.

Any good sites on the ZX recomended

Shed load of sites on the zx, any search will bring them up, also the links section here is good.

Welcome to the club, and the more exclusive NA section:D

MB3D,

I was recently looking for a Zed and was talking to a chap with one for sale in Aberdeen (Bit too far for me). He's a user of this forum called tommyf.

I didn't go look at it, so can't comment on quality but it sounded nice and the piccys he sent looked OK.

I've sent him a mail to let him know you are looking.

hello mb3d

unable to email you

contact me on 07766460228

before you buy the n/a

Noooo dont do it.. just buy a TT. A much better grin factor.:D :D

One thing to bear in mind is insurance, you pay hgher insurance for an import, this is true, when i reinsured my tt this year i got a quote on an NA too by mistake, the NA and the TT (imports) were both the same price, a quote for a UK TT was lower than this but it will be.

So in short you can insure a UK TT for less than a import NA. Or an NA import for the same as a TT import.

MB3D,

My advise to you would be to go for whatever YOU LIKE and not what others may think is better for you:D

Hope this helps:D

"Ammar"
